I'd still prefer Vince Vaughn over her. But she wouldn't be bad, just not the host he could be.

I'm glad no one is rallying behind Jay Leno, at least. He would probably be the worst possible choice.

I really don't see Vince Vaughn as a possibility.
I think he'd be funny and would love to see him host but something about him just isn't fitting for the Oscars!
I'd love Ellen to host the Oscars; a chance to redeem herself from the disaster that was the Emmy's this year!
Steve Martin and billy Crystal are okay. But Steve Martin has a movie in the running thsi year, so I don't think they'll pick him.
chris Rock wasn't that funny last year, so No!
Robin Williams would be an interesting choice, but again... don't really see it happening.
Around what time do they uaually announce it?

I think Vaughn would work because of what WC did. They can't give it oscar nominations, but Vaughn being pretty much the comedic actor of the year has could make them count him in. Hes critcally loved as an actor too, so it wouldn't be that much of a stretch.

They should be announcing it this month. Maybe mid-October?

You know... I'm no Bush supporter or republican, but the only politics I want to see at the Oscars are...
1. Political issues brought up by the movies themselves.
2. Joan Rivers throwing shoes at Starr Jones
3. Naked mud wrestling between Jack Nicolson and Michael Douglas

I actually didn't pick him because of The Daily Show. I just think he has the right persona, and the right comedic timing to be a host for the Oscars. That's not to say he wouldn't throw in some political humor during his opening monologue, but if he were to host, I think he would bring the political comedy down a notch.

A choice I like is Will Smith.

How bout Peter Griffin. Haven't there been animated hosts for award shows in the past? Could work out excellently.

Kathy Griffin is hilarious, but I don't know about her stand-up. Then again, I'm iffy on everybody's stand-up.
Jon Stewart would be great, but I just don't think it's his arena.
Ellen would be awesome.
And you know, I've never had a problem with Billy Crystal or Steve Martin.

How do you feel about Vaughn? Am I the only one who sees him as, like, the frontrunner this year?

HAHAHA I hope you're kidding... Peter Griffin is a cartoon character from a FOX show. The only animated presenters that ABC can get for the Oscars are ones owned by Disney.
