Re: 2015 Oscars - 87th Academy Awards (Live Viewing Thread) I for one think Neil is doing a great and intelligent but gutsy performance. Not a lot of his jokes are sticking with the audience, but the jokes aren't for them; they're for us. His jokes have worked, at least for my viewing party, and his pauses are on cue, but not for the audience in front of him. However, this means for those it doesn't work for, it seems weaker than it actually is.
