 Re: SAG Awards ceremony LIVE
Atleast Argo is a good film unlike other past winners. Also John Goodman has 2 SAG ensembles in a row and maybe will have supported 2 BP winners ina row.

In the end, Affleck's director snub will just be one of those all-time anomaly from the group of academy directors for that particular round of votes. Indeed, looking at everything, allof Argo's wins are not the anomaly. The only anomaly is the BD snub.

 Re: SAG Awards winners
I wish we knew what it was like when Driving Miss Daisy won. Was it considered a surprise or was it the frontrunner all the way?

 Re: SAG Awards winners
It did win NBR to start the season, so it's definitely a strong contender, and Jessica Tandy was always the frontrunner for Actress that year. But I don't think the film itself really separated itself to be a frontrunner during the award season. It didn't get a director nom at GG and didn't compete head-to-head with the heavyweights in the drama category. It's one of the those films that even though the film was getting acclaims, it was never considered a director's movie, as Bruce Beresford was pretty much ignored everywhere (he got one from BAFTA, but that's in the following year). It's mostly about Tandy, Freeman, and the screenplay.
I'd say Born on the Fourth of July was probably the stronger contender, or at least an equally strong one, considering it won Drama and Director at GG and then again at DGA.
