Great for King Kong. One of the best reviewed blockbusters that is not LOTR in quite a while, eh?

Walk the Line is actually doing quite a bit worse than Ray.

A History of Violence still has the most #1's on the COTC list and might even overtake Brokeback Mountain on there.

WOW.

Brokeback Mountain is by far and away the Best Picture of the year in just about any form of recognition, be it critics, critics groups, awards... I still will never be 100% sure until the name is read, but the Oscars would be completely off if they don't award it now. I'm not even saying it deserves it... I'm just saying... has there even been such an overwhelming consensus for one movie in any year?

Updated again. Walk the Line finally entered the top 20. GNAGL moved up to No. 3.

I've seen 8 out of the top 10 movies, and if it hadn't been that both Grizzly Man and The Constant Gardener were out when I went to Blockbuster last night, it'd have been 9 out of 10. 16 out of the top 20.

Way to go, Galia! Great stuff!

As for the updated list...

Doesn't anyone else find it surprising that Cinderella Man is actually quite high up on the list and wasn't really forgotten by now? I mean it is ahead of Walk the Line.

And look at The New World's passion index! Definitely a love/hate movie.

I just found this list and I have to say I'm relieved to find that at least one professional critic believes that Jarhead is the best movie of the year. I've seen pretty much everything that will compete at the Oscars (except HOV and Squid) and Jarhead is still the best movie of the year.
