This is seriously pissing me off. So voters just feel bad for Affleck? SERIOUSLY. WTF.

I really like Affleck as a director. I adore Gone Baby Gone and loved The Town. Argo is just not worthy. At all. Such an exciting year and THIS is the movie that is going to end up winning? Fuck that.

Exactly!

At this point I'd rather see Zero Dark Thirty win, and it was going to be the film I wanted to hate before Argo came along and mildly amused everyone.

Ya'll need to calm down with the anger. This isn't Slumdog Millionaire or The King's Speech.

This is so weird and on the one hand, I am pissed because I am in this Oscars predictions game among film critics for which we already had to send in our predictons (I went with Lincoln). On the other hand, I am happy because, having seen 7 BP nominees, Argo is still my favorite.

Slumdog Millionaire is far superior to Argo.

I do prefer Argo to The King's Speech, though.

Argo is a terrifically directed tight thriller that conjures a whole lot of tension with very little means.

Argo is Munich for Joe Popcorn.

Pffft, Argo is terrific. It is no Munich, but then again very few films of the past ten years are.

Munich was also a better film than Lincoln. It was not BBM that was screwed over big time in 2005, IMO, it was Munich.

You will lose this fight, Dr.

Argo is not deserving and you will one day realize it.

Syriana should have won Best Picture in 2005, but it was not even nominated. ;)

No, as I have said before, WOKJ is an anomaly, not just audiences everywhere, but also the vast vast majority of film critics loves this film.

Voters are wusses. They should grow some balls. This is disturbing. I'd much rather Lincoln be winning everything. But I guess the Affleck snub changes everything suddenly. Fuck that.

The race for BP is indeed over. If Harvey's determined month-long campaign couldn't get SLP Best Ensemble here, I don't see how it could overtake Argo. In the end, Affleck's director snub will just be one of those all-time anomaly from the group of academy directors for that particular round of votes.
