Since all 3 have existed, no film has won Best Picture at the Oscars without winning at least one of the PGA, DGA or WGA.
Peace,
Mike.

My point still stands. 16 years with the 3 around, and without exception, no film has won Best Picture at the Oscars without winning one of the three. Nothing is ever a be all or the end all, but it's certainly a disadvantage.
Peace,
Mike.

I'd say comedy is just a little due.
If you think Annie Hall was the last comedy to win, you are wrong. That distinction belongs to Shakespeare in Love.

Anyway, I am happy that my favorite movie of 2006 won the PGA.

Not lately. Just ask nominations leaders BBM, The Aviator and FOTR. It appears Dreamgirls will also not win a major guild like FOTR a film that had more critical acclaim and better box office then Dreamgirls.

What is wrong with these people. I know. You have no soul if you hate Little Miss Sunshine. Heh. To be quite honest, when I first saw it I would give it an A, but now it's slid down into B+/B region. The little problems that I had with it had grown by my DVD viewing. The ending is very "About Schmidt" to me, as funny as it can be, it just doesn't belong on that picture.
It doesn't do well with repeat viewings, I'll say that much. I think one of the problems for me is that when I saw this in the thetaer it was sold out, the audience was dying, and everyone applauded at the end. It's a crowd pleaser, and like Dreamgirls, I think seeing in that environment really adds something you just don't get watching it on DVD. So I'm happy it mixed up the reace sure, but I really don't want it to win BP.
