Perhaps this great opening will actually get this movie some damn overdue attention among those oscar voters

Something Awful have started their own grassroots marketing campaign - and it rocks.
Part of it is this new five minute FYC trailer they've cut, which is awesome. Needless to say, this has put Something Awful right at the top of my honorary members list.

Does anyone have a Something Awful account? Let's get those bad boys over here to join!

"Children of Men Oscar Clean-Up" Club? Is this some kind of campaign to get the cast and crew jobs cleaning up the Shrine Auditorium after the ceremony? Surely you can't mean winning. That'd be madness.

Madness, you say? I remember a certain someone else who people called "mad". "That'll never work", they said. "You're mad!" they yelled. But with a little perseverance and a lot of faith, that man went on to prove everyone wrong.
And that man's name... was Charles Manson.
Watch your back, Yoshue...

Out of curiosity, have you seen it yet Yosh? I seem to recall you saying you were seeing it today.

Been put off until tomorrow. 12:25. I'm very excited, which consequently makes me very nervous. High expectations have not been working in my favor lately.

I saw Children of Men a vigorous three times this weekend, iniated the applause the two times someone else didn't, and brought a combined 16 people with me, how many gold stars do I get?

Children of Men: Great Film or The Greatest Film?
I'm holding out hope for some recognition. C'mon recognition...

I remember no such proposal. Were there diamonds?
If so, then I accept - and welcome aboard!

It really deserves all the recognition in the world, really hope to see it nominated for a big one.

Glad to hear you're enjoying COM and spreading the word -- but applauding at a movie is the height of ridiculousness.
(Hint: The performers can't hear you.)

My full support is behind this film. To see a movie like Babel honing in on the spot that rightly belongs to Children of Men is infuriating, but should it be nominated for cinematography (pretty much a done deal), then that will be the award on oscar night that I will stand up and cheer for (along with Marty's best director win of course ).

Children of Men's state in this race is depressing. At least it'll be present in the tech categories, though. Still...
I'd die and go to heaven if this was nominated for Best Picture and Little Miss Suncrap (Mature, I know) wasn't.

And I'd rather both over Bab-ullshit.

I re-watched Little Miss Sunshine last night. It's very funny. That said, I can't get it off of my Top 10 list fast enough. I can only deal with so much bonehead writing.

Of course they can't, but the audience sure can, and it's my way of letting everyone know I found it to be a damn good movie. What's so ridiculous about that?
