Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
It looks like the Chalamet Bob Dylan movie is coming out this year after all. Hopefully it doesn't win BP and mess with our draft.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
Best Actor: Brody apparently gives an incredible performance but I get the vibe he's an asshole in real life and he already won for a jewish period piece, plus the movie sounds like it could be a Tar type situation where it's a bit too arty. So it goes to either Fiennes or Domingo which I was torn on. It seems like everyone wants to see Fiennes win an Oscar so this good will gets him over the line.
Best Actress: Madison seems like the buzzy winner for them to pick even if Anora falls just short of BP win, the competition seems non existent.
Best Supporting Actress: Emilia Perez could go either way it seems like, but Saldana seems like the type of actress they could give supporting actress to any time. Only white actresses who can win this category are ones with resume like Ronan or maybe Collette, for ones like Felicity Jones played the overshadowed wife role I think they find a minority to give it to.
Best Supporting Actor: This Sing Sing guy Clarence Maclin apparently is a former inmate basically playing himself so he will have feel good story, it seems like the prison movies the supporting actor as a guy who's seen and done more shit than the main character is a good role to stand out.

Best bet seems to be Fiennes. The other 3 categories I don't see an obvious front runner yet.

I'd switch Maclin for Culkin and stay with the other three though I don't feel great about it.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
Madison seems like too much of a no name to win.
Usually its someone of color when a no name wins.

Ariana Grande wont even be nominated. Remember the Barbie hype last year? Everyone thought Robbie would be nominated and she was not.

The only person who could win besides her is Saldana. She’s at least in second place. I’m banking on the fact that no one liking Emilia Perez the film will weigh in Grande’s favor. I don’t know where the Barbie comp comes from. It’s more comparable to Hathaway in Les Mis, Hudson in Dreamgirls, Streep in Into the Woods and Zeta Jones in Chicago.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
Well, it's about time Ralph Fiennes won. He's been nominated twice but never won an Oscar. They cannot let his career end with 0 wins. The dude is too good an actor. Damn, he's been nominated for SIX Golden Globes and also never won. Hopefully it's seventh time lucky. He's actually very light on wins overall. Four SAG noms, 0 wins. Six BAFTA noms, just 1 win.
btw, who's the buck-toothed mo'fucka in the picture above?

The Sing Sing guy Clarence Maclin because he was a real inmate from the jail the movie is about, so they could've gone for it as a good story supporting actor win if it was one of the main challengers for BP win, but it looks like Sing Sing is fading after not even getting in Golden Globe drama.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
I kept counting it out due to being a body horror but in retrospect Demi Moore fits what they love which is "physical acting" with performances like Phoenix in Joker, Stone in Poor Things, Smith in King Richard, Fraser in The Whale, etc. and she probably has tons of friends like when Bullock won for the Blind side.

Demi all the way. Think she'll prove how much impact the GG can have on the Oscars for an open race.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
Id rather Demi won than Mikey Madison who doesn’t seem like she’s paid her dues In Hollywood yet.
