I can't find any admins, and no one mod's this forum.
I guess I could just ask people to try and keep all Oscar related talk in this thread for the evening.

Good luck. BOM's Oscar forum was a madhouse last year thanks to certain people.
Maybe Eagle is around to sticky it?

So makeshift, what are you looking forward to?
I want to see how much they'll ruin the show (or not). I wonder if all the changes will work or not
Also, The Incredibles!!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ Kicking. Shrek 2's. ASS!

I'm looking forward to Natalie Portman, mostly.
And I think most of the changes are BS, but we'll see how it works.

Maybe it's a good idea to start a separate thread for the official show since this is already 5-page long (I know, 5-page will be very insignificant by the end of the night), and most posts are centered around predictions and pre-show discussions?

Next to Sideways winning BP, if Shrek 2 somehow sold its soul to win Best Animated Feature, that would be the shock of the night BY FAR.

Well, that was ROTK..., plus, we have a smaller group of nutcases here at KJ.
Btw, that last thread of yours over at BOM added 100 posts to my post count!

Oh, definitely. That would be an upset to upset all upsets. Too much, I say!
But it won't happen. I think they would seriously look into their policies and guidelines, if that were to occur.
Maybe change it so that only animators can vote? We're supposed to give the award to the film with the higher quality, right? Well, the animators know more about that than anyone else, bar none. They gave the film 10 Annie Awards!

Okay, after having seen Finding Neverland tonight, I can easily say that Sideways is the best out of the bunch (without having seen Million Dollar Baby), so I am rooting for it!

Lecter, what do you think of Before Sunrise/Before Sunset after seeing them?

I'm rooting for any BPN other than The Aviator and Ray. I'd like to see Sideways win because it's an indie, and that's always nice.

She'll sing 3 of them, including one in French.
Banderas will sing the one from Motorcycle Diaries.

I'm not a fan of breaking up the thread, it splits the conversations. It worked fine in my thread last year, if that's ok.

I thought Before Sunrise was okay and Before Sunset was definitely superior to it, but not really a masterpiece in my opinion (even though better than, say, Ray and Finding Neverland). I'll post more in the Indies/Foreign Movies section a bit later today, hopefully before the Oscars.
Oh and Julie Delpy absolutely deserved a Best Actress nomination for Before Sunset.

No problem with that.

Which Best Picture nominee is the most timeless?
Clearly The Aviator has that feeling, as does Sideways. Either one could have been made decades ago.

Thinking about it, what I'll do is add the page number to the title of the thread for the begining of the show, page 6 or 7 or whatnot.

The Aviator or FN. Both Sideways and M$B look post-1970s.

Sideways definitely looks like the bastard child of cinema of the 60's and 70's (which is good for a film from 2004).
How about Ray?
