But still, he just seems like a very frail, very old, somewhat slow witted man. How is he even communicating with the cast and crew? I smell a ruse.
Oh my God! You mean Letters and Flags was actually shot by Michael Bay?

Peace, Mike.
She's like 40/41 or something.

The only upcoming movie that I could think of that could pull something close to ROTK is Harry Potter book 7 but I have my doubts that will get more than just nominations in the technical areas unless the movie is truly amazing. There is nothing else in terms of blockbuster status coming up that I can think of. I don't know. In my opinion, there's just no way Harry Potter 7 will hit anywhere in the big categories at the Oscars. I just can't see it, at all. I don't think it will happen, no matter who is attached. Peace, Mike.
Well I doubt either I think it might get 7 nods all in the tech areas, of course this all looking too far ahead for that, who knows what will be up that year.

At least Flags would have been way better then.

Well, I missed the ceremony on the night and spent the whole of yesterday desperately trying to avoid any websites and newspapers that might give something away before finally watching it with a pack of cider last night.
I thought it was pretty great.
Ellen was good. Funny monologue, if a little small feeling. I've always felt the monologue demands a set-piece, akin to the Billy Crystal gets inserted into the nominated films bits. She was solid and consistently amusing throughout (the script, the photo and the chatting with the teamster bit in particular had me chuckling), with any luck she'll return next year.
Was pleasantly surprised that The Departed won director and picture. Better that than Eastwood.
Pissed that CoM was snubbed in the few categories it was nominated in.
While it's cool that Happy Feet won over Cars, I would've much preferred to see Monster House taking home the statue.
