As of now, I'd really like to see Letters from Iwo Jima win.
That would be one hell of a surprise and I wouldn't mind it. My best film of the year was Departed/Letters but I've made peace with Departed not being Academy type fare and some part of me doesn't want it to win so it ould be another infamous snub a la Brokeback...
I'd be quite indifferent to a LMS win snce it's in my top 5 of the year but really don't know why it would win.
Obviously, Babel would aggravate me the most (and that's why I'm predicting it to win so I won't be too disappointed if it does )
So.... I'm rooting for Letters

At this point, I think I'm crossing my fingers for the impossible: LMS. It isn't my favorite out of the noms (I'm a whore for The Departed).... but I think it would be the most *interesting* win. I like pleasant surprises.
Clint Eastwood winning would not be a pleasant surprise.
I'm indifferent about Babel winning. It probably will for that very reason. I like Babel, but I'm not sure I consider it BP material.... I'm numb to it. Eh.

Less than 24 hours until the Oscars, and I still am pretty clueless as to what will win Best Picture.
It feels so weird.

I just hope it's not Little Miss Sunshine.

Doesn't it?
These past few weeks I just kind of gave up on the whole predicting thing... and it all lost a bit of its excitement, to be honest.
I am pumped for tomorrow, though.

If the show goes down as expected, the highlight, at least for me and I'm sure many others, will be Martin Scorsese finally winning an Oscar and for one of his strongest movies. The standing ovation will be wonderful.

I feel conflicted, because I am rooting for The Departed, but I would also enjoy a Little Miss Sunshine win.
Those are the only two wins that would make me happy, though. Any of the other three and I'm gonna be ticked, especially the damn Queen (though that's not really fair to Iwo Jima, which I haven't seen).

I'm sure everyone, despite not seeing it, would be ticked if Clint won again. He won't though.
I just hope it's not Babel. Sadly I'm scared of it though.

As for me...
I've been with it since early on, and I'm sticking with The Departed. Just a gut sort of thing.
LMS wins, I'll be pissed, to be perfectly honest. It's just simply one of those... like it but don't want it to be called the best picture of 2006 kind of things. I guess lightly pissed is the more appropriate term. I won't die if it wins; I'll be fine. It's not like Brokeback last year where I genuinely felt pissed AND sad that the Acadmey opted out on doing something significant.
The Queen somehow pulls off a win, I don't know. It has a very outside chance, but if somehow it sneaks in (which I do know some critics, at least, are predicting), I'll be more confounded than anything else. I think it is just as undeserving as LMS (though I like both), but like I said, I'll be more shocked than pissed. It's not happening, though.
I'm not expecting a Babel win, and although I love the film (it keeps moving back & forth with Babel as my #2 & 3 of last year), I'm kind of stuck between rooting against it because of the uproar that will undoubtedly result, and saying screw you to everybody who hates it, because, honestly... I still love it.
Letters I need not address. Though it'd be cool to see such an upset.

As much as I love Scorsese and am excited for his win, I wouldn't be angry at all if Clint won. For my money, Letters from Iwo Jima is the best film he's ever been involved in, as a director or actor.

Oh yeah, director.
Even though I think U93 is the better directed film, I do want Scorsese to win.
It's going to be extremely disheartening if he doesn't win. But there's really no evidence pointing to that happening.

I wouldn't say that I wouldn't be angry if Clint won, but I'm sort of in the same boat.
Clint winning over Scorsese would be so outrageous that it might actually be fun to see how people react...

It's not like am upset The Departed got BP, but it's so unexpected at least for me!!
I did not expect LMS to get it as well, neither Letters nor The Queen!!!
So it left me The Departed and Babel..
And as I was watching I thought..Now Babel only got Best Score.. So I thought maybe it's getting BP!!
And then it hit me..
