However, it might be true what you said about Nicholson, but then again, doesn't the same go for Meryl Streep who still managed to get a nom for Prada which was an equal publicly beloved hit? Just too weird...
Ugh.
DeNiro could've owned Nicholson in that role. Nicholson did okay, he was smooth and all, but definitely not memorable.
Streep was memorable in The Devil Wears Prada. If there's a God, she'll win Best Actress at the awards. I didn't love the film, but GOD: Streep outdid Streep with that performance. Plus, if the Academy denied Johnny Depp for his composed performance in Finding Neverland, why the HELL are they going to give Mirren an award for The Queen? Just because she's a little classier and older?
Yeah, she was good, but NO ONE OUTDID STREEP THIS YEAR (except maybe Cruz, but maybe I'm biased because her role in Volver reminds me of Johansson in Lost in Translation in that her beauty keeps the movie together in some of the slower scenes, even when she's not at the top of her game...).
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
