Hmm, being a remake of an Asian film would make sense. Either way, I'm not worried, as of right now it's still the biggest frontrunner for the Oscar since Return of the King. I'm really glad to see Inside Man on that list, I hope it gets a few more well deserved notices.

Being a remake of an Asian film? That's kinda stretching it. I'm guessing it was simply a deliberate snub. And I'd hardly say this is the biggest frontrunner since ROTK. You just can't compare to that.
And Happy Feet was the token animated film. They have one just about every year.

I'm not comparing it to ROTK, I'm just saying that it has more going for it then Brokeback Mountain, Crash, Million Dollar Baby, or The Aviator did at this point. That said, I don't disagree that it's a stretch, but it's at least a feasible possibility for a top ten list that likes to emphasize thoroughly "American" films.

Inside Man? Over Children of Men?!
I'm beginning to think my Oscar clean-up club is in jeopardy...

Well in fairness to Children of Men, it probably hasnt been screened to alot of US film critics. The Golden Globes will be its real acid test.

Nope, they just took some bad acid I think.

Yeah, this one is a real late bloomer if anything, but perhaps getting it out a bit earlier would have helped.

Yeah, I'm totally in the minority for loving this list.

Letters of Iwo Jima I'm looking forward to seeing after Flags fell flat. Happy Feet? Let's be more ridiculous. It's singing dancing freaking penguins for heavens sakes. The Departed? How can it not be on the list. Because it's a "remake?" That's a poor excuse if that's the reason. Inside Man was a very very good film but I don't know if it's top 10 material but I'll have to look over what came out again I guess. Other than that, the list is ok. I haven't seen Prada though and Borat is a bit iffy to me.

Hmm, Inside Man was great and I am happy to see it there, but a snub for The Departed is just too weird. Hmm.
Awesome for Borat!

Ahaha.
That's actually a bad list. More like a People's Choice.
Prada was great fun, but it doesn't deserve serious contention. For Blunt and Streep, yes. But not the film. Is adapted screenplay strong this year?
Borat? Happy Feet? No Departed? I guess I'm like most of you guys... scratching my head.
