As much as I really liked United 93, I doubt it will be getting much Oscar attention. Why?

WORLD TRADE CENTER

Unlike United 93, WTC has several performances to rally around, and it was a bigger, less controversial film that was easier to stomach. Though I doubt either film will do much at the Oscars, I'd consider WTC to be more of a contender than U93, though the latter should end up very high on my yearly top ten list, where it is currently #1.

Hmm, I don't know. World Trade Center had a good score on RT, but I didn't get the vibe that it was really, really loved by any of the critics. Just that it was "very good."

I'm just saying that it seems to have a "better shot." Frankly, I don't think it will be nominated for anything, but I think it's got a better chance than United 93.

After getting the chance to see this again recently I'm convivnced it doesn't deserve an Oscar. Greengrass does a solid job but compared to Bloody Sunday its a very weak and dull effort (yes dull, no relation to 9/11 but this movie is dead and unemotional to the maximum). If this movie was done right rage and regreat would follow but it can't go for the jugular and it shows even more on a second viewing.

I seriously hoped for more but didn't get it.

WTC is quite possibly one of the worst films i've ever seen, in my life.
