I agree with Clive or Denzel from Inside Man. But the best performance this year came from Hugo Weaving in V For Vendetta.

I agree with Jodie Foster for Supporting. It's completely against her usual fare and was refreshing and left me wanting to know more about her character.

How about Lucy Liu as supporting in Slevin?

The ONLY performance this year that has approached Oscar territory (and will certainly be ignored) is Aaron Eckhart in Thank You For Smoking.

Ellen Page's intense and uncommonly assured performance in Hard Candy marks her as a talent to watch and is deserving of an Oscar nomination, no doubt about it.
