All I know is that co-producers Cathy Schulman (who won the Oscar) and Bob Yari (who was shafted) are suing each other and it's a much more interesting turn of events than the movie itself.
Schulman did thank Bob Yari in her speech.

I can't believe you're clogging the forum with basura like this.
Since when has attacking other people without a reason been alright? Or waiving a trophy in someone else's face like some juvenile just for the sake of doing it? Geez man, grow up.
Instead of debating the film, all you do here is bash people and pretend to be right by saying "Well, more people agree with me! So ha!"
Even if you are in the majority, we all know that doesn't make you the right one. Please respond if you want to talk about the movie, but lay off posting more of *this*

I'm looking forward to watching it again. Who knows, maybe I was wrong. Don't waver on me dammit! lol, I'm not wavering. But its win has at least created the situation for me to see it again, since I have to purchase it. Had it not won, I haven't any doubt that I would never see it again. My sister emailed me this morning to say she was happy Crash won after having just watched it yesterday. So good taste isnt genetic.

I've given up on discussion with getluv, he just wants to rub the win in the face of people who hate the film. I love how an Oscar is automatic validation that a film is great, but when a film losses then the lost is another validation.

Didn't anyone find the fact that the female producer of Crash was a bisexual polygamist kind of funny?
She thanked her husband AND her wife as the music played over her speech.

Ripper I've given up arguing over someone who isn't going to listen to the other side that is why I'm being a total asshole. I don't see any validation on why the other four were better than CRASH. I do think CRASH was more accessible to audiences than the other four despite the subject matter, but I believe CRASH is a well made film anyways. I understand why people find it manipulative and over the top, but in the world we live in now you can understand why more people were touched by the film.

That was pretty hilarious. I had to check my recording... she did thank her husband AND HER wife!

I thought that, too.
Wasn't it "my husband, who's my life"?

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was easily flat out the best film of 2005. My disapointment that it was not nominated is great.
Crash winning is like a blip on the radar, dissapointing but nothing more, the best film of the year was not nominated so it doesnt make much of a differerence which of the nominated flicks win, though I must admit I was going for Brokeback after Walk the Line failed to get the nomination.
