Walk The Line missing Best Pic has nothing to do with Johnny Cash or June Carter, and everything to do with the fact that its a good movie most like, but very few love.

I wish I'd kicked it out of my predictions. I was just too timid to jump on the Capote train.

This is the correct answer here.

People loved Joaquin and Reese, but only liked the movie, generally.

Heh, I nailed Best Picture 5/5. As much as I loved WTL, I think Munich climbing in is better overall for the Oscar season this year.

The Maverikk poking resulting from this will be infinite. :hahaha: We'll be bringing this up next year.

think Mav will offset this with the Clooney love.

I really, really wanted Walk the Line to nab that nomination, even though I knew it wouldn't win either way. I knew, however, it wouldn't get nom'd, and I predicted it not to. I was still praying, though, that somehow it would get it. I'm pleased with the Joaquin/Reese nods, and we know Reese will atleast win. Probably no shot for Phoenix, but we'll see.

I guess what he and I share is that we both championed our films chances at BP to no end. Although I would say Mav was slightly more "determined".
