At least A History of Violence has Ed Harris' makeup. I still don't understand why Cinderella Man is here. Maybe it's too perfect to notice.

Paul Giamatti did kind of look like an eggplant... maybe it was small stuff to make them look more like the real versions of the people. Or how they made Renee Zellwegger not look gross and fucked up.

So, Geisha is a semi-finalist for Sound FX but not for Makeup? Hilarious...
Well, at least it makes the job of predicting the nominees easier, I guess..

Well, it hurts when you're not a member of the guilds. Rodriguez quit because they wouldn't let him make the film a co-director project, because they are absolutely against that for some reason, so instead of trying to cause trouble, he just quit. Then you can't get nominated for the guilds, and you usually lose out at the Oscars too, it seems. Same thing happened to Kill Bill, no? Tarantino also quit the guild.
Peter Jackson wanted to give a sort of co-director credit too, to those who were involved with creating Kong, since they really "directed" that whole part of the film, and did an amazing job doing so. He requested it, but dunno what was said or what decision was made. All I know is that Jackson didn't quit over it, but it may have hurt him? I dunno.
Weird stuff.
PEACE, Mike.
