Woohoo! I knew they were gonna go with "Remains of the Day" for Corpse Bride; good call.
I too am a bit confused about choosing "Do the Hippogriff" over "Magic Works". Not because I didn't like DtH (because I do like it), but because MW seems more like an Oscar-worthy song.

"Hustle & Flow (It Ain't Over)" from "Hustle & Flow"
"I'll Whip Ya Head Boy" from "Get Rich or Die Tryin'"
"In the Deep" from "Crash"
"It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" from "Hustle & Flow"
"Move Away and Shine" from "Thumbsucker"
"So Long and Thanks for All the Fish" from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
These are the nominees I'm rooting for thusfar, although I'm sure I'd like a lot of the other songs if I knew them.

I am rooting for four of them as well (the ones I left in)

They don't really like Alanis, huh? Kind of like the snub she got for her song "Uninvited" from City of Angels (which I thought for sure would get 2 song nominations - "Iris" and "Uninvited."

Isn't it ironic...
What song did Alanis do?

For this year, it's "Wunderkind" from The Chronicles of Narnia (which is nominated for a Golden Globe).

Of the films i have scene this year only the songs fro hustle and Flow stuck out b/c they were so key to the film. It sems like a weak year for msuic when I cant even think of songs in films, let alone good nominees.

This really has been a disastrous year for music in films. I haven't seen Hustle & Flow yet (as soon as it comes out on DVD, though), but the only song I can even really remember from a movie is that one from Crash that played at the end.

The music in Crsah was good, I remember leaving hte theater and likin g it overall,t hough I don't recall that song.
Music in film this year has sucked, royally.
Alanis Morrisetee has never topped Univited, and given had bad her remake of Crazy is, i don;t have high hopes for her narnia song.

This shouldnt even be debated, So Long and Thanks for All the Fish is the only worthy song.
