Or at least turn this into the fighting thread. Maybe everyone is just having a bad day but I go to this forum to talk to others about interesting thing Oscar-wise, speculate, etc. I don't come here to wade through pages of immature fighting and thread hijacking. I really like some of the people I'm talking about, but I feel like this is arguably the only forum largely untouched by this idiotic habit most users have on here of going into every thread and turning it into fucking comedy hour. WE HAVE A CONVERSATION THREAD FOR A REASON GUYS. So while any attempt at some intellectual thought is interrupted by posters making jokes about how gay someone else is and how great they are (followed by some "ironic" crying/whimpering in an attempt to fish for compliments), this was that one forum where I could really get some good, informative predictions and thoughts out. But now I'm just seeing that as the forum gets more attention thanks to Oscars being more and more in the media spotlight, it once again is starting to slip into the mindless, candy-coated slop that a lot of the forum seems to have turned into. So if we need to bitch about King Kong, can we keep it out of The Contenders Thread? If we need to ignore logic and reason in favor of seeing who can type the sharper retort, can we keep it out of this forum? Blame it on the holidays and personal stress but I've had it up to here with a lot of this bullshit, and it'd be nice if at least one little pocket of the forum didn't frustrate me to no end.

Some people just really have it in for Peter Jackson. I just don't understand why someone would devote so much effort posting about something/someone they have issues with. Life is too short.

I actually agree, and I apologize for my part in it. One of the reasons I like this forum is because with the exception on one little pest who pops in here to make shitty comments about Walk the Line, it's generally an intelligent forum. It's my favorite forum here because of the discussions, and the arguments usually take a higher ground than the petty bickerings that go on elsewhere. The level of the conversations reflect the quality of the movies and that raises this forum to a higher level than the sports mentality of the other forums. I even told Nazgul before to keep the fanboy shit out of this forum, so the least I could do is do the same.
