 Re: Best Picture 2013
Oh, you would bother with the Oscars again. Anyone who bothers with the Oscars to degree they swear they won't in the future should Film A or Film B win instead of Film C or Film D is always going to bother with the Oscars. So spare us the bullshit.

In real life too, BTW only for those very people to text me during the very ceremonies they swore not to watch.

Last year I spent the whole ceremony rolling on the bed, while my friends were watching. I saw like 15% of the show. Any year before I watched it religiously.

 Re: Best Picture 2013
My love for the film aside, I'm beginning to think Blue is the Warmest Color might have a chance of being nominated here. It still has the strong reviews behind it and the buzz is still pretty significant with the two actresses. I think there has been enough praise for the film where it could get to the 5% of #1's needed, if barely. I mean Amour got in last year and that seemed to have less buzz around this time than Blue has currently and I only feel it will grow as time goes on.

But you're not alone in that wish .

 Re: Best Picture 2013
At this point 12 Years a Slave is the frontrunner by far. The thing with American Hustle is that I can't see it winning many/any important Oscars, so a BP-win would seem random. It won#t win Editing, IMO (that'll go to Gravity) and I think it will have a tough time in the Screenplax category. I also doubt Director, with McQueen and Cuarón being ahead of Russell. So what can it possibly win? Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress and Best Costume Design? Seems kinda weak.
I guess Gravity is still more likely to upset (though won't happen) because it will perform strong overall. I expect at least five Oscars even without BP - Visual Effects, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Cinematography and Editing. 12 Years a Slave will probably get Adapted Screenplay, Actor, Supporting Actress and Score. BP and BD up for grabs then.

 Re: Best Picture 2013
I wonder if The Wolf of Wall Street might miss here.

I'm interested in why he was rolling on the bed for three and a half hours. Sounds like a patient in a lunatic asylum.

 Re: Best Picture 2013
Doesn't mean much but RT is having a Twitter voting in progress and people have so far voted for Her as their preferred pick fo BP.
246,458 Her (27%) 195,976 The Wolf of Wall Street (22%) 145,328 American Hustle (16%) 114,033 12 Years a Slave (13%) 73,196 Captain Phillips (8%) 62,269 Dallas Buyers Club (7%) 44,917 Gravity (5%) 23,501 Philomena (3%) 2,978 Nebraska (0%)
It's strange to see how little votes Gravity got.

 Re: Best Picture 2013
LOL, sorry. Those are trending on Twitter apparently. The real list:
29% Gravity 21% 12 Years a Slave 17% Her 16% The Wolf of Wall Street 9% American Hustle 3% Captain Phillips/Dallas Buyers Club 1% Nebraska/Philomena
Makes more sense now.
