Since I haven't gotten around to seeing much older films, the only 2 films I have seen from Scorsese are Gangs of New York and The Aviator. Gangs of New York was horrible, a real mess. The Aviator was good (mainly because of the stellar performances from Blanchett and DiCaprio) but I'm glad Scorsese lost to Eastwood. I know I haven't seen much of his work but a sympathy Oscar is quite pathetic.

Any Scorsese fans seen The Age Of Innocence? It's been a while since I've seen it but it's a very different film for him, a period piece with Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pheiffer, and Winona Ryder. Everything is implied rather than directly spoken with lots of emphasis on looks and gestures rather than violence. I was lukewarm towards it when I saw it, but I think it shows the range Scorsese has.
