Re: Looking at ALL 20 Oscar Actor Nominations-Who are your 5
The starting 5
Natalie Portman in “Black Swan” Christian Bale in “The Fighter”
Amy Adams in “The Fighter” - maybe, as I thought she did the role well, but probably not top 5 as too many others still to see.
Still have to see - so vote will probably change - but poll votes can be changed.
Javier Bardem in “Biutiful” Colin Firth in “The King's Speech” James Franco in “127 Hours” John Hawkes in “Winter's Bone” Mark Ruffalo in “The Kids Are All Right” Geoffrey Rush in “The King's Speech” Annette Bening in “The Kids Are All Right” Nicole Kidman in “Rabbit Hole” Jennifer Lawrence in “Winter's Bone” Michelle Williams in “Blue Valentine" Helena Bonham Carter in “The King's Speech” Jacki Weaver in “Animal Kingdom”
NOT TOP 5
Jeff Bridges in “True Grit” - he is no John Wayne and talking loud didn't sell it. Jesse Eisenberg in “The Social Network” - nope. Jeremy Renner in “The Town” - not impressed by the bully role Melissa Leo in “The Fighter” - too annoying Hailee Steinfeld in “True Grit” - one great scene only with the auction guy

Re: Looking at ALL 20 Oscar Actor Nominations-Who are your 5
Interesting that Actor and Supporting Actress are getting the most support.
But looking at who is winning at KJ, compared to the SAG Winners.
Good Job Overall!
Christian Bale in “The Fighter” 13% [ 6 ] Natalie Portman in “Black Swan” 10% [ 5 ] Colin Firth in “The King's Speech” 8% [ 4 ] Melissa Leo in “The Fighter” 2% [ 1 ] > only Sag Winner who is losing here
*************
So why isn't Leo getting the support from KJ?

Would pick Steinfeld if she was nominated in the right category.

It shouldn't matter. She is nominated, she should be happy. I doubt the morning nominations were announced she said "what the fuck! Supporting actress?! FUCK THIS SHIT!" It was the category she was campaigning for and she got in.
