 Re: Independent Spirit Awards Nominees
The pretty strong Milk showing otherwise + their love of Gus Van Sant makes it missing Picture and Director particularly odd.
Anyways, Melissa Leo is looking stronger the last few days. Best Actress is weird as fuck this year.

 Re: Independent Spirit Awards Nominees
They really really loved Frozen River, eh? 6 noms for it.
Okay, some stuff is plain weird. Vicky Christina Barcelona and Milk miss out on BP/Bd noms, but Ballast makes it?!
The Wrestler gets Best Picture, but no noms for Director or Screenplay?!!

 Re: Independent Spirit Awards Nominees
Rachel Getting Married is the big winner as well. Jonathan Demme could have a shot at the lone director slot.

 Re: Independent Spirit Awards Nominees
The Independent Spirit Awards are notorious for spreading the wealth, so the various snubs being mentioned aren't really that much of a surprise.

Talk about spreading the wealth. FOUR films won two awards.
Nice winners, overall.
