I was aiming for more of a *groan* response considering the expectedness of the nominees, but that's good too. As for the BP win, I thought TDK lost its spot in the hunt when SAG snubbed it for Ensemble. IMO it's just Slumdog and Button at this point. As for the win here, I'm with Rod, and say Slumdog takes it. Though wins by Button or TDK wouldn't be terribly shocking.

I'm expecting nominations at both WGA and DGA, and a PGA win would at least put it as a small contender (Much like Moulin Rouge! or LMS), but the SAG snub, especially for a film with a lot less major names like Slumdog, hurts it a lot in my eyes. Only Braveheart has won before without getting nominations at all four Guilds, and I'm not sure TDK has what it takes to defy the odds. Also, a PGA win can be easily credited to the film's massive success, so...yeah, it probably wouldn't change much for me.

Hmm, you've got a point there, but it's just that SAG awards are rather new, so having only one precedence is not THAT bad. Also it has three major things going for it that Moulin Rouge! and LMS didn't have: - More passionate support - $500+ million - And most importantly - it'll likely get a Best Director nom I assume things would change if it somehow managed to win DGA, eh?

Wall-E being ineligible for everything screws the entire guild overlap system up. I mean if we assume we're down to 6 films and Slumdog/Milk/Button/Frost/TDK just run over everything, we still don't learn a thing because all that tells us is that everything outside the 6 is dead as I expect, Wall-E can be dominant in the SAG and PGA branches and on its way to an easy nomination and we have no way of knowing. Furthermore, we have no way of knowing which film of the other 5 is weakest! Maybe TDK because it missed SAG ^ I stand by this. This is the most meaningless PGA ever, other than killing everything outside the top 6.

 Re: PGA Discussion
In my opinion winning the SAG Ensemble is the most interesting one, because there would be a greater percentage of similar minded voters between the SAG voters and the Academy, since Actors make up the largest voting body of the Academy by %. SAG has tons more voters of course, but I believe all of the Academy Acting voters are also SAG members.

 Re: PGA Discussion
It'd be hilariously irrelevant and a nice blow-me. So no.

 Re: PGA Discussion
I have never wished for TDK to win something before, but sweeping the guilds would be a nice touch.
