Quote:
Deadpool & Wolverine is an American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters Deadpool and Wolverine, produced by Marvel Studios, Maximum Effort, and 21 Laps Entertainment, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is intended to be the 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and a sequel to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018). The film is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay he wrote with Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman star as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively, alongside Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. In the film, the Time Variance Authority (TVA) pulls Deadpool from his quiet life and sets him on a mission with Wolverine that will change the history of the MCU.

Deadpool & Wolverine was released in the United States on July 26, 2024, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.

Lots to digest, but easily the most fun I’ve had at the movies in years. Nearly sold out at 3pm. Won’t review it until the dust settles. Definitely on the upper end of Marvel for me though

Story wise... eh. Some fun surprises. And Hugh Jackman is unsurprisingly terrific. Overall I think it was fine but think it could have been stronger.

The end credits with the behind the scenes of Fox films just reminded me how good some of the X-Men films were.

It was ok with some funny moments, not much of a story.
I did like some of the cameos.
For me its one of those one time see movies that you dont mind seeing.

I give it a B-

This was the most fun I've had at the movies maybe ever. Easily the best Marvel film since Endgame. Loved seeing all the old comic book characters come back, even Gambit was great! This Is the blueprint of how to make a multiverse film. Deadpool really is about to save the MCU.

Kinda reminded me of Multiverse of Madness and The Flash. I enjoyed what we got ... but can't help but feel like it should have been more.

The best joke:

Spoiler: show
Flame on!

:funny: :funny: :funny: Was dying so much that I couldn't even hear the next minute over my own chuckles.

However, I think they should have saved that for later in the movie. It set a standard that was so high that the rest of the movie couldn't live up to it. The d-list characters were fun, and I'm obviously the target audience since I recognized almost all of them. I just wish that, if this really was a sendoff to the Fox X-Men series, that we got the big players too at the end to hit the feels extra hard. 7.5/10ish

PS: I was disappointed to not see Taylor, but I read they are planning to use her as the lead in a Blonde Phantom movie???? All for it. Who cares about Blacktain America and the Thunderbolts when we have something like that on the horizon?

Shang Chi, No Way Home and Guardians 3 are all pretty beloved by most. The others ... well I enjoyed them all (Except maybe Quantumania) but not everyone feels the same lol.

I agree that the
Spoiler: show
Human Torch reveal was maybe too early. Maybe they couldn't afford to have him more in the movie, which they explicitly say lol but the reveals of the others was not as effective, especially since they stupidly put X23 in the trailer. I was sort of expecting another big X-Men character, like Jean Grey or Rogue or something to show up.

I didn't have high expectations for this (wasn't a HUGE fan of either Deadpools 1 or 2), but I had an absolutely blast. Easily my favorite Deadpool movie and one of the more enjoyable MCU movies for me in the last decade. The chemistry between Deadpool and Wolverine was excellent, this is maybe my favorite Hugh Jackman Wolverine performance.
Spoiler: show
not gonna lie I fucking cried at the end with the dual teamwork 'sacrifice' + Madonna's Like a Prayer, so sweet. And some major comic book nerd gay boy thirst moments, holy FUCK Wolverine with the mask / Wolverine without a shirt, goddamn.

I feel like this kind of tone (balancing irreverent af / sweetly sincere) is the only way the MCU works for me anymore. Otherwise it's too much a slog of same-same.

The first act of The movie is best, in the middle it gets meandering, but then the fights at the end help it end on a strong note. Easily the best Deadpool film, and the cameos here are handled way better than in MOM. Not quite as good as NWH though.

I wouldn’t call the NWH cameos, the others were certainly everything the Illuminati was not though. It could easily be the best Disney+ show ever

Fun! A sneakily loving tribute to the 20th Century Foxiverse/WB trilogy you didn’t know you needed. And the Honda Odyssey.

I liked it about as much as the first two.

3.5/5

It's crazy and fun, not crazy fun. I don't know about anyone else but this isn't as good as the other Deadpool films despite having some excellent individual scenes. It mostly sullies the reputation of other Marvel properties, but not in a clever way. While using Logan's corpse as a weapon is a fun scene, I don't want that film tarnished. It is an amusing film, and I genuinely laughed aloud twice ("The Proposal" and Deadpool admiring Logan's abs during the finale) and everything from when Wolverine wears his mask (finally!) until the end is excellent. The fights+gore+action is awesome, and there is a place for this style of violence even if you're not 13 years old. It's just ton of fun to sit back and watch henchmen get sliced by claws and swords. But Gambit, ugh. They did a good job making him look perfect, but casting Tatum instantly ruins it. Blade, meh. And referencing Logan at all wasn't right.

It's a true popcorn movie. A flick that you can have a lot of fun with but you don't mind if someone is munching and slurping next to you. It's not a work of art, but it works.

Very fun, it's a good sequel and and desirable team-up film, Wolverine, with the suit especially, and his broodiness brings something great to the big screen again. Overall it's brash, explicit and violent and it pretty much all it works. Really liked the cameos and most of the characters appearances, Johnny Storm, Elektra, Blade. The film is only really let down by the same multiverse plot which it criticizes, The Void just isn't such an interesting place. But I get that they're wanting to get bigger and rise stakes constantly, it hardly works out for the better. Therefor I did connect more with DP2, which flowed better and had the better humor too. While in this it really feels it's trying a bit too hard with the self-awareness and Disney digs, with less effort being spend on the story. It gets a bit too much reduced to Deadpool and Wolverince bantering and fighting each other. However, great use of music in this. And the opening bye bye bye dance choreography set piece is an excellent start to the film.

B+

Finally watched it today. I love that song Iris so it was used perfectly.

Overall good. I do wish we could have seen the real scene of Thor crying. :P
