Re: Our Brand is Crisis (2015)
A terrific performance by Sandra Bullock is far and away the highlight of the wildly uneven Our Brand Is Crisis. There are moments of real insight about the political machine here, and there are just as many things that simply don't work at all. It's a shame, because I think this had the potential to be a fascinating movie but the results overall are just average. But Bullock (and a solid supporting cast) is great, and the movie is possibly worth seeing just for her performance. C+

*insert algren comment about how he's shocked you didn't like a female led movie*
*insert additional algren comment saying that it's not surprising since it didn't do well and you only like movies that do well*

Bullock is great and there is a really good movie in there somewhere but the final product is wildly uneven.

This was enjoyable. Sandra Bullock was fantastic here, I'm actually shocked she didn't get a Golden Globe nomination at least because she really elevates the whole thing with her performance - which is fiery and funny. B
