Re: 22 Jump Street
Jillian Bell is by far the film's funniest element, in my opinion. Her every line had me in stitches.
I could have done without most of Channing Tatum's solo scenes (with the football players and so on).

Re: 22 Jump Street
Very good elevated by its parody elements. It is always impressive when a film can successfully parody the comedy genre.

Re: 22 Jump Street
Loved about every second of it. Meta comedy at its finest! Ice Cube stole the show and the bit at the end was genius. Tatum and Hill have such great chemistry.
Especially loved: The meet cute The parents breakfast "I thought it was a good idea." When talking about being secret service to protect the white house. Everything Nick Offerman

Would you have wanted to get home at midnight? Cause that's what happened last night.

Re: 22 Jump Street
Ice Cube's face at the dinner tops everything in the first movie. Also loved all the meta humor, but felt like I was the only cracking up at these jokes. I could tell the people around me had no idea what Nick Offerman was going on about and Tatum's White House Down pitch got nothing. At least people were cracking up in the credits, but that had plenty of visual humor to guide people along. Also count me on Team Jillian Bell, loved her. I do wish she had been given more than old jokes, but her delivery is always fantastic. I also wish that Dave Franco had more than a cameo.
The first had a better story, this one had better joke variance. 21 relied a little bit too heavily on dick jokes, and while those are still here they found many other ways to bring the laughs. I want 2121 Jump Street asap!

This would have been worth $15 just for Ice Cube.

I have the same feelings with this as I did with the first. It has it's funny moments and I'll watch it again when it's on Comedy Central but I'm not going to actively seek out to watch it again.
But to Magnus' point I agree, dayum Amber Stevens.

Re: 22 Jump Street
"Somebody get him some fucking water, he's black, he's been through a lot!" Is the funniest thing Hill has ever done. As was Ice Cube's "What the fuck you looking at plant, get the fuck out of here!" as he kicks it too. Everything Cube did was great.
Overall the story is a mess in this one, and the first was consistently funnier. Reversing the "who is popular, who is outcast" in this one isn't nearly as good, because in the first it worked great because it was against type for both. Here we expect Hill would be the loser. Also all of the things that are repeated from the first film (Drug out, chase scenes, etc) isn't as good, which I guess is the joke they were going for? Thankfully the new stuff is really funny and the supporting cast adds a lot to it. End credits was amazing. I think 22 Jump Street Generations was my favorite, also "Don't Shoot my Dicks" game was awesome too!
I'll give it a B+/ A- for now, but I'll need another viewing.

She was such a funny presence in her early scenes that I actually got excited when she was revealed to be the Big Baddie. I hope she really breaks out after this. Magnus wrote: Tatums delayed reaction to realizing who Cubes daughter is easily the funniest moment in film all year. Oh my god, I don't think I stopped laughing from his "AWWWWWW SHIT" moment to him saying "that, actually, isn't that funny." All in all, I thought it was on par with the first. I am completely on board with whatever Lord and Miller decide to do next.

Re: 22 Jump Street
It was quite hilarious. And they nailed exactly what they were going for. And even though I knew the whole twist of who Ice Cube's daughter was, it was even funnier because I was the only one cracking up when he high fived Jonah Hill for getting laid.
And Tatum's reaction to finding out was THE BEST.

Re: 22 Jump Street
So yeah this was even funnier than the first.
Creed being the soundtrack to the "bad trip" was the best throwaway gag.
Also, "Doug"

Same here. Sony needs to give them all the coke, hookers and dough they want to make them come back for 23 Jump Street. I have seen 22 Jump Street three times in theatres now (I rarely ever do that for comedies) and I am fully convinced that this might very well be the best comedy sequel of the past ten years at least.

I can't think of a lot of comedy sequels in the last 10 years.

22 Jump Street
Fun movie, not overly funny, but fun. Jonah Hill is the better of the two. Channing Tatum said two funny things, and they were both at the end. He cannot act whatsoever, but I suppose it doesn't matter in this type of film. The jokes are as clever and self-aware as the first (if not, more), and the best part of the film came in the end titles with the movie posters of the next ones (and the jokes in general throughout were pretty cool regarding next films and coincidences in this film). The prison gag scenes are pretty good, and that last shot after the credits is priceless.

Re: 22 Jump Street
This film was not as good as the first, mainly because Amber Stevens, while gorgeous, can't compete with the one two punch of Brie Larson and Dave Franco. I really thought it was hilarious, and I would forget it was just like the fist until the characters in the movie would bring it up. I din't find that funny at all. Ice Cube being the girl's father was hilarious though.
