 Fitzcarraldo
Fitzcarraldo Quote: Fitzcarraldo is a 1982 film written and directed by Werner Herzog and starring Klaus Kinski as the title character. It portrays would-be rubber baron Brian Sweeney Fitzgerald, an Irishman called Fitzcarraldo in Peru, who has to pull a steamship over a steep hill in order to access a rich rubber territory. The film is derived from the real-life story of Peruvian rubber baron Carlos Fitzcarrald.

 Re: Fitzcarraldo
Both of those films are great.
Neither are as good as Nosferatu, which is probably the best remake of all time. Some of the most stunningly creepy music ever, too.

 Re: Fitzcarraldo
I do not like Herzog's redundant and boring Nosferatu.

 Re: Fitzcarraldo
Rescue Dawn was uninspired and unnecessary, yet I thought he captured the jungle madness (as he has done before) quite well, and it was mostly entertaining. I'd give it a slight pass.

As Klaus once told me while we were having lunch on his houseboat in Cologne: "Peterchen [Peter Berling] has colossal hairy balls."

10/10 -> A
I'm not feeling Herzog really, but Fitzcarraldo blew me away.

 Re: Fitzcarraldo
herzog and kinski:
1. aguirre, the wrath of god 2. woyzeck 3. cobra verde 4. fitzcarraldo 5. nosferatu the vampyre
1/2 are masterpieces, 3 is great, 4 is very good and 5 is only just good.
