 Re: Whiteout [2009]
Awwww, I can't believe no one has seen this yet just for Kate Beckinsale. I'm going tomorrow night, so I'll be sure to let you all know whether or not miss Beckinsale is able to save the movie even in the slightest.

 Re: Whiteout [2009]
This is quite the epic fail.
It's painfully boring, incredibly lazy in terms of its plot and who's behind the whole conspiracy, the acting is all around awful, and it's not even remotely suspenseful. The whole thing looked like it should have went straight-to-DVD. A shame, considering the director has made two films that I really enjoyed (Gone in Sixty Seconds and Swordfish).

That's too bad. It actually looked mildly interesting and I somewhat like Beckinsale.

My brother saw this and fell asleep in the cinema.
I won't bother. I think it looks crap.

WHITEOUT - 6/10 (C+)
Not as terrible as I was expecting. I think if I'd seen it in theaters I'd have been pretty bored, but it plays decent enough on DVD. Some of the acting is quite poor though, and the mystery predictable.

 Re: Whiteout [2009]
Whiteout is the typical crime drama film just in Antarctica. The film goes through methods that have been used continuously in the genre that there is nothing original in the can. Kate Beckinsale is really the only decent performer in the film but even then her talent is wasted. There's not much of an adrenaline rush when the film wants there to be one and there really isn't that much mystery. The film stays confusing from start to finsih and ends with an ending all too familiar to audiences. *

 Re: Whiteout
I like the setting. I like the action. I like Kate Beckinsale, especially when her introduction segues right into a scene where she strips down. Man, do they know their audience!
Unfortunately the story is so generic, boring and predictable. You can see what's coming from the very start. And the ending... eek.
But I can't lie. I enjoyed the journey to get there.

One of my favorite scenes of all time.
