Like Crazy is 2011's (500) Days of Summer. Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones work so well together in this film. Their connection right from the beginning is very believable and when the two must experience separation along the way, their chemistry never seems to fade. The film is shot very well and I think the use of quick edits is very effective here. Jennifer Lawrence even makes a noteworthy supporting performance throughout the film. Now some may not enjoy the film as much because you have to be very patient with as it takes a lot more turns then even I expected. The last scene may even not give those who become impatient, the closure they want. I made it through the film though and after thinking about it, the ending that they came up with was the perfect way to end it based off other parts in the film. It is a real joy to watch and I would put it in my Top 10 of the year. ****

I agree with jmovies, though I don't feel the (500) Days comparison is quite right. The Blue Valentine comparisons I've read elsewhere are also not quite spot-on. It's almost between the two films, in terms of content and tone.

It's very good, and all three leads are great (especially the wonderful Felicity Jones). However, I don't think it measures up to either (500) Days of Summer or Blue Valentine, both of which tackled similar topics more successfully. B+

LIKE CRAZY - 8/10 (B+/A-)

It's a very good movie with an excellent performance by Felicity Jones. And as one-dimensional as her character is I thought Jennifer Lawrence really brought something to her role. I actually found myself caring about her despite her limited screen time or character development. The biggest problem for me was that, for the most part I didn't care that much if the two main characters were together. I did at first but there just got to a point where I thought they'd be better off apart.

A bit torn on the rating.

I was disappointed to an extent that I personally would have preferred a Nicholas Sparks type cliched romantic drama with a happy happy endng, but Felicity Jones' performance and the fantastic camera-work made it feel very real and that sets it apart in some way from most romantic films these days.

B+

What a beautiful, heartbreaking little movie. I loved every second. Yelchin and Jones work so well together and Lawrence is really good too in her supporting turn. This is going to be a movie I will watch many many times from now on. A+
