 Starsky & Hutch
Starsky & Hutch Quote: Starsky & Hutch is a 2004 American comedy film directed by Todd Phillips. The film stars Ben Stiller as David Starsky and Owen Wilson as Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson and is a film adaptation of the original television series of the same name from the 1970s.
Two streetwise undercover cops in 1975, driving in a red 1974 Ford Gran Torino, bust drug criminals with the help of underworld boss, Huggy Bear. The film functions as a sort of prequel to the TV series, as it portrays when Starsky was first partnered with Hutchinson. The film also switches the personalities of the title characters. While in the TV show, Starsky was curious and streetwise, and Hutch was by-the-book. In the film, Starsky is the serious cop, and Hutch is laid-back. There are four Frat Pack members in this film, although not all are in major roles. Hilarious at times, but some jokes fall flat. It was one of Stiller's better 2004 movies, though. B

Pretty good comedy, but had a lackluster last half hour and I didn't like the overly drawn out boring cameos at the end by the original Starsky and Hutch. But more entertaining than most comedies in recent years.

STARSKY & HUTCH (2004)It takes about a half an hour to get going, but once it does Starsky & Hutch is a pretty enjoyable movie. The main thing it has going for it is its spoofing of the homoerotic undertones of the show. When it's doing this, it's at its best and funniest. I saw this with my cousin, and her and I both agreed it took a while to get going, and that the highlight of the movie is the spoofing of the show's homoerotic undertones. That's where most of the laughs come from. She said that hopefully the sequel has more of it than this one, and I couldn't agree more. This one has a good amount, but not enough. It certainly could have used some in the first half an hour, when it wasn't very funny and was kind of slow moving. I'm glad it picked up. Overall, Starsky & Hutch is a pretty entertaining movie. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson worked well together, and I never thought I'd say this, but I also really liked Snoop Dogg here. If you are familiar with the homoerotic undertones of the show, then you should enjoy the movie even more, since the spoofing of those scenes from the show is the main thing the movie has going for it. Grade: 7/10 (B-)

Could Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller be one of the great comedy duos of all time? Maybe, but they'll have to do a little better than this. It's not really that bad of a movie. Owen Wilson's easy charm can go a long way. It had some funny moments and was better than Stiller's other recent comedy Along Came Polly. My grade: B-.

It could have used a lot more funny stuff. It was pretty bland, and even the funny parts weren't that laugh-out-loud. It's more of a movie to have playing in the background while you're doing something because it doesn't distract you a lot, just mildly entertains you.

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson have great chemistry and that alone mostly carries the entire movie. Vince Vaughn's turn as the villain and especially Will Ferrel's cameo are hilarious, but unfortunately many jokes of the movie fall flat. It is a good, entertaining and mindless flick, but it didn't live up to the potential it had. However, it was one of the better buddy-flicks that are being made nowadays.

If you give a film a 10/10, you have to more then just "really enjoy" it.

Well, it's stupid when someone gives a movie a perfect grade, when they only "really enjoy" it.

Very entertaining and you have a good time but not a movie to watch twice. Funny but forgetable.

I never say that I "like" a movie and I give it a 9/10. AMITYVILLE for example, was it an amazing flick? No chance! It was entertaining and great but not amazing or anything.

Yipes, I don't know where the heck my original review went for this one?! I really enjoyed it though, certainly one of the better TV show remake movies...

 Re: Starsky & Hutch
Stiller and Wilson have fantastic chemistry that carries most of this movie, with a hilarious cameo by Will Ferrell really adding to the overall quality. I probably wouldn't like it as much now that I'm a bit older as I did a few years ago, but it definitely supplies some good laughs.
