Glitter
GlitterQuote: Glitter is a 2001 American drama film directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall and starring R&B singer, songwriter Mariah Carey. It was produced by 20th Century Fox and Columbia Pictures. It centers on the life and times of a struggling singer from the early club music scene in the 1980s.

The only thing I can really say about Glitter, is that it makes Gigli look like Casablanca. This was just simply one of the worst movies I have ever seen. There are no redeeming qualities in it at all. For instance, it isn't campy enough to make fun of. It also has an unbearable running time of 104 minutes. That's usually not a bad running length for any film, but try sitting for that long while watching Mariah Carey attempt to act.

A-
Great movie. Good plot, and good acting. The score was rather weak, though.
EDIT:
Oh, and by great movie, I mean terrible, poor excuse of something remotely close to cinema. And by good acting, I mean vomit-inducing line-spewing. By good plot, I mean....insert something bad here.

This movie has to be one of the worst ever made. Watching Mariah Carey try to act was pitiful, and got tiring after a while. Thankfully, I made it through the entire movie, but I can't say that I didn't suffer. The plot was contrived, and ridiculous. The music was okay, but definitely not her best. A lot of the other actors were terrible too, including the guy who played her boyfriend, can you say Mark Whalberg wannabe? And Da Brat was just horrendous. What the hell was the casting director thinking? I'm sorry, but this film is just a sorry excuse for filmmilking. I hope that Mariah wakes up one morning, and realizes that she was not destined to be an actress, she was destined to be a singer, and that is it.

Oh c'mon guys. this is one of the rare and special movies I reserve the F grade four. The F grade is very special, and few movies get it. They are movies that are unintencially entertaining. Showgirls is another, there are many more. They are, in fact, so bad that you can get a good laugh out of them.
I consider the F grade far more entertaining than the D, which is truly reserved for the bottom of my barrels. Glitter gets F, and I mean that with some minute sense of affection.

I actually own this movie, it wasn't all that bad. Much better then stuff like A CINDERELLA STORY and RAISE YOUR VOICE though

While I thought A CINDERELLA STORY and RAISE YOUR VOICE were alright (like GLITTER), I just enjoyed watching GLITTER more. Maybe I like it more then ACS and RYV because GLITTER is bashed constantely, and the other two aren't.

Maybe  Then again, I did really enjoy GIGLI (7/10 or B-), so what do I know? I thought that was a really fun movie and that Jennifer Lopez turned out a good performance, while Ben Affleck turned out a terrible and annoying performance.

GIGLI was "OK" and didn't deserve the bashing it got. My opinion is biased though because I adore both lead actors.
GLITTER, however, was laughably bad. Horrible performances from Mariah Carey and Max Beesley as well as a lame and cheesy script make this one of 2001's worst films.
