 Grease
Grease Quote: Grease is an 1978 American musical film directed by Randal Kleiser and based on Warren Casey's and Jim Jacobs's 1971 musical of the same name about two lovers in a 1950s high school. The film stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, and Jeff Conaway. It was successful both critically and at the box office; its soundtrack album ended 1978 as the second-best selling album of the year in the United States, behind the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever, another film starring Travolta.

This used to be one of my favorite films when I was younger. Now I don't love it as much, but it's still a solid musical that's very deserving of its classic status.

I sometimes find myself singing the tunes. I've karaokeed "Summer Lovin'" and "You're the One That I Want" many times with this awesome female singer that I know. The film is good, but not great, and I like the second one better. The only reason I can say that with my head not completely lowered, is because it's a very odd opinion that both myself and my best friend share.

I rewatched within the last few days and it's still very good. I'd forgotten how slim Travolta used to be but I never forgot how hot Olivia Newton-John was! Along with Princess Leia chained to Jaba the Hut in Return Of The Jedi, Sandy in black pants is an icon for my generation. One thing that I really saw this time was how good Stockard Channing really is as Rizzo. I had a great time watching this again. My grade: A-.

Oh god the watchability factor of this movie is through the roof. The first time I ever saw it was in rerelease on the big screen when my mom dragged me. I hated it. I don't know why, now that I look back on it, it was probably because it was the first musical I ever saw.
Now I realize how fun the dance sequences are, how humorous Beauty School Dropout is, and of course the ending gets reread. I used to be pissed that she would "change herself" for him until I rewatched it and was just like "Yay, the inner slut came out." WooHoooOOOOOoo.! Hey if the leather fits.....
I think its just a fun movie. Its never boring, and deals with a couple actual issues too. Though some of them are less relevant today, they still speak true. There will also never be another scene where Travolta jumps up on a car like that and points in a semi-circle. This movie, thankfully, doesn't take itself too seriously either. Probably my favorite non-dark musical, I like it better than Singing in the Rain and other light musicals. Its up there with Cabaret and Chicago for my top three.

One of my favorite films of all time, and the only musical I've ever truly enjoyed. One of the most rewatchable movies of all time in my book.

One of the most fun movies around, also the songs rank up there for the catchiest.

The perfect musical. I've seen it a thousand times and I'm the Karaoke king to half of the songs!

One of my favorite musicals - I've seen it about a dozen times in the theatre. Totally charming and perfectly crafted.

This is my absolute favorite movie of all time. I've seen movies that are better, but none that I love as much as this one. A+ all the way .
All I wanna know is who gave it a D? I'm curious as to what reasoning there could be behind that.

Well, per exclusion I think it's clear who gave the D, heh.
Anyway, I don't remember it well, but what I remember, I didn't like. Refrain from giving a grade, though.

A musical that I actually enjoy. Catchy songs and cool characters. Just fun to watch. Perhaps a bit dated, but it's still pretty good.

Meh. I'm not a big afan of this musical. Not to say it's bad. They did a good job, but in spite of that I've just never liked Grease too much. The songs, while catchy, just don't do it for me.

 Re: Grease
I just watched this for the first time in ages because my boyfriend has for some reason never seen it and I forced him to. It's still great. Obviously dated but it's a lot of fun and the music is so damn catchy. I do think it slows down a bit though during some numbers and it could have been tweaked a bit. I'd give it an 8/10 or so now.
