Re: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
It's a lot of fun, and does a great job upending horror tropes and playing with expectations, but can never really keep up the momentum of its one-joke premise and ends up coasting to a stop more than anything. It's plenty hilarious, though.

What a hilarious, brilliant horror-comedy. One of the year's best movies and a new genre classic. Even with the great reviews I did not expect to love this so much. It's a gem.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is some of the most fun I've had with a film in a while. It plays off the cliches of these kind of horror films so well and the entire film just becomes a riot. Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk work so well together and everything just comes together well in the end. ***1/2

Re: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
Like trixster said, it's a great parody but merely a good comedy, as the laughs are so front-loaded the film seems to meander to a halt.

It's so, so much fun. Even though it is one-joke, I kept wondering how they'd off the next person. Labine and Tudyk elevate the leads, and Bowden was shockingly good. It works best when the "hot girl" in question is actually believable in falling for a bearded redneck.
What a pleasant surprise. And the perfect length too. It does come to a controlled skid for an ending, but that's okay. I didn't expect much else there.

One of the few movies I've seen in recent memory that I could probably watch again right away.

Re: Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
Watched this again over the weekend. Was visiting relatives and introduced my cousins to it. They were laughing so hard. One of my cousins is so damn picky and complains about everything. The best you can get from him about a movie is that it was "OK." But he couldn't stop talking about this and thought it was great. If this counts as a spoof movie it's the best spoof film I've seen. It's just hilarious and a total blast. This movie should have been a wide release from a bigger studio. I think audience reaction would have been amazing. Could have been a fairly big hit. Seems like such a waste it wasn't. It's an absolute horror-comedy gem.
After seeing this three times I've decided between an A- and an A. This is an A.

One of the best horror comedies of the past decade that turns a lot of hillbilly redneck clichés on its head (albeit in a very obvious manner) and presents two very likable leads with Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine as the titular Tucker and Dale. Fans of blood 'n' gore are gonna get their fill of it as well. It is immensely rewatchable and I still hold out hope for a sequel (which will supposedly happen).
Also, as a bonus, this is the film that introduced me to the hotness that is Katrina Bowden. OMFG.
