 Dare
Dare Quote: Dare is a 2009 indie drama film directed by Adam Salky. It is written by David Brind. The movie is based on Salky's 2005 short film which was met with acclaim at film festivals. The feature length version, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, stars Emmy Rossum in a story about how "three very different teenagers discover that, even in the safe world of a suburban prep school, no one is who she or he appears to be." IMDB also provides a different teaser synopsis: "The good girl, the outsider and the bad boy…like you’ve never seen them before."

 Re: Dare
DARE - 8/10 (B+ or A-)This was very fun and sexy. This is really the first time I've enjoyed Emmy Rossum so much (though I did think she was good in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA). And Zach Gilford oozes charisma. He was really good here. It was really nice seeing the short film expanded on (which I re-watched after watching the movie - it's one of the special features on the DVD, which is a nice bonus even though I already have the short on another DVD). Recommended!

 Re: Dare
An interesting film elevated by the talented and charismatic Zach Gilford.

 Re: Dare
4/10 -> D
Boring and only marginally interesting, but only due to some good acting, thought nothing superb. Real disappointment after WOKJ managed to sneak a nom for this in WOKJ Awards. Usually when something sneaks it's worth it. This time WOKJ made a full miss.
The story never grows more than it's simple one sentence premise. The movie lingers from one scene to another most of which are supposed to be meaningful but all they do is fill time.

 Re: Dare
Ahhh... Yeah it was "only" a runner up in the supporting actor category. My mistake. But it caught my eye as it came out of nowhere.

 Re: Dare
I thought it was quite good (though I honestly preferred the short film). Emmy Rossum and Zach Gilford were wonderful in it.
8/10 (B+)
