 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
Okay... Yeah, I know... Cameron Diaz is ultra hot for a 53 year old woman, but she's definitely entering cougar territory in What Happens In Vegas...Actually, I think she's shown that this kind of lesser ROM-COM is beneath her these days, with her fine work in The Holiday and In Her Shoes, so it's kinda surprising to see her trolling the summer BO waters with this sort of chum... While there is definitely some ROM between Diaz and Kutcher and enough COM to make me laugh out loud a couple of times, this is definitely second string material - - it's so old school, that Ashton Kutcher's even already made this movie with Just Married five years ago - - and worse... it was better back then. Despite some fun supporting work from Rob Corddry (this year's go-to guy for comic sidekick), and throw away parts by the likes of Dennis Miller, Dennis Farina, Queen Latifah, Treat Williams - - OMG, it's so sad to see those talents squandered so... Only worth seeing if you're hard up for some lovin' or laughin' until the next proper ROM-COM comes along... 3 out of 5. {Warning: This review contains a humorous device of using exaggeration for effect in regards to Ms. Diaz's age. It is solely intended as an ironic editorial comment on the extreme ageism prevalent for Hollywood actresses. Any interpretations beyond the authorized one are solely the responsibility of the reader. Of special note, the number fifty three was specifically selected as a means of developing future humorous material in the area of dyslexia, as Ms. Diaz's current actual age is thirty five. Bradley, it doesn't matter what your intention is if the joke isn't actually funny.

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
'What Happens in Vegas' is entertaining. The first half was really funny. It's predictable, but there were also some parts developed to the unexpectedly direction. Not much, but still, there were. Diaz and Kutcher were totally funny and charming. The chemistry between both is sparking. The supporting cast were great as well. Most of the comedy part wouldn't work this well if not for them. Though there were times, when it all went wrong. But for some reason, it did pick up better in the very next moment. It's not great. But it has enough charms and funs to have me enjoyed with it.

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
What Happens in Vegas succeeds in exactly the way it should: it presents an entertaining comedy that won't linger in the memory for years to come but is definitely enjoyable. Cameron Diaz (who I have always found underrated as an actress) and Ashton Kutcher don't have white-hot chemistry, but they're both charming and make us root for their relationship. Rob Corddry and Lake Bell are also surprisingly funny in the respective "best friend" roles. Good movie. B

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
I was all set to rip on this then I watched Speed Racer and now I'm in a more forgiving mood. While by no means a good film Vegas isn't entirely awful either. As much as I hated Rob Cordry in Harold & Kumar I loved his performance in this, he balanced the stale bland performance of Kutcher almost perfectly. While Lake Bell provided something nice to look at after we are subjected too long takes of Diaz (who's moving closer and closer to challenging SJP in terms of who looks more like a guy or horse face). The first half of the film was mindless, boring, and unoriginal, and while that didn't change the film somehow managed to become watchable towards the end. If you're looking for a watchable date movie then this might be the one for you.

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
I thought it was terrible. The acting was awful, the leads had no chemistry, it wasn't funny in the slightest and it was so obnoxious and annoying. Screaming isn't funny... at all.

4/10 (D) I agree with every word. I usually like Cameron Diaz but she was unbearable here. Beside one joke, I haven't laughed at all. Terrible film. D-

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
I really enjoyed it! It accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do and proves to be an entertaining and charming romantic comedy. I thought parts of it were hilarious, but there was also a lot of heart to it as well. It's been done before, but it works thanks to the capable performances from the cast. Cameron Diaz was great and stole the show, proving once again that she excels in roles of this sort. Ashton Kutcher is also solid and the two have decent chemistry. I also loved Lake Bell in her supporting role. Anyways, I'd definitely recommend this one. I'm planning on seeing it again. B+

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
It provides nothing new or stimulating, and so it comes off as pretty average. Some pretty great moments (many from Rob Corddry) elevate it to a solid B-. Overall, though, it's pretty forgettable.

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
A LOT of laughs here. One of the funnier movies I've seen in awhile, not just romantic comedies. Ashton Kutcher is a riot as well as his buddy in the movie Rod Coddry. It's got very nicely timed jokes and likeable characters.
SPOILER:
I did like how they handled the "cliche" side-friends always get together in romantic comedies. Almost as funny as how Billy Madison did it.

Rob Corddry was hilarious Lake Bell was hot and funny Ashton was semi smirkable at times Cameron Diaz was not funny at all and should stop acting because she is ugly and talentless Queen Latifah..... really!?!?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?! HER!?!?! Terrible Dennis Miller really disappointed me Zach Galifianakis was funny but weird Jason Sudeikis was good
overall not very good.

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
Oh come on people. Seriously? Seriously? Were you expecting the second coming of Christ? The next Scarface or Godfather? Geez. It was a cliched romantic comedy, you should have known that from the previews. It wasn't anything new and original, but it wasn't like it was Baby Geniuses 2 either. I mean...come on now.
Romantic Comedies have a formula. You should know it. It is always going to end the same way because other wise, guess what? It'd be called a Romantic Tragedy. And nobody likes those (see Prime for example).
Anyway, it was fun. It made me laugh. It made me smile. The story was funny, I enjoyed it. End of story. B+

A solid, but definitely forgettable, romcom. I think Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz worked well together.
Rob Corrdry made the movie, though.

 Re: What Happens in Vegas...
I caught it on a flight recently and you know what? it passed the time well enough. Nothing special, but entertaining. My disliking for Cameron didn't even manage to put me off. Not bad at all really.
