It's the worst of the prequels but I like it better than Return of the Jedi. The action is nicely done, McGregor's a ton of fun, and I absolutely love John Williams' score. But there's a real sense that Lucas is trying to desperately please his fanbase here - "You didn't like The Phantom Menace? Well, here's Boba Fett! And the Clone Wars! You guys are having fun again, right?" He's pandering, and because of that it feels the least like Star Wars of the bunch.

Attack of the Clones: 3rd Best Star Wars Movie!
VI V II IV I
Hitting the list at #3 with a bullet, comes Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones!
I loved it - outstanding - it even had a story, and a good one too! Christopher Lee stole the show, but the rest of the cast was great - Yoda rocks, Natalie Portman wears spandex, Ewan McGregor did the Jedi proud, and Hayden Christensen made me forget Jake Lloyd. The only actor who was sadly a bit underused was Samuel L. Jackson.
It's a realStar Wars movie!

(Note: I loved Ep.III: Revenge of the Sith even more when I saw it some years after writing this review, so I have to re-rank Ep.II: Attack of the Clones as the fourth best Star Wars movie overall. Still a great movie!)
Jesus, did you post this review with a straight face?? Seriously, after viewing all the Prequels now(SPIKE TV Apparently fawns over them), this clearly could've been done without, but leave it to Lucas...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
Ok, so part two introduces Hayden Christensen; probably the worst actor in the entire franchise, but at least it follows on seamlessly from The Phantom Menace exchanging terrible Anakin performance for yet another terrible Anakin performance.
A marginal improvement over the first film. Bad CGI still affects the film, but at least the comic element is no longer present. The banter between Obi Wan and Anakin is somewhat appreciated, and as the series edges closer to Episode IV, Lucas focuses more on nods and winks which will link the two trilogies, which is bound to make it more likeable. However, Attack of the Clones has problems. The relationship between Anakin and Padme feels forced and unauthentic, with some of the worst dialogue ever. Actually, bad dialogue plagues the entire series, not just this film. But Attack of the Clones is just a wasted middle instalment, with no true villain, no great lightsaber duels, and a crappy CGI-fest battle at the end. Oh, not to mention the embarrassing duel between Dooku and Yoda. This film just passes by without standing out at all. It's unmemorable with lots of Star Wars stuff going on but none of it you really care for. Obi-Wan looks for the bounty hunter, Anakin tries to bone Padme, more convoluted senate bull crap, and some other needless bull crap about clones. Seriously, The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones are just not needed, and should have been rolled into one movie. I mean, who says that each set of Star Wars films has to be three films? Lucas is incapable of thinking creatively, and he certainly damaged the brand with these two big-budget CGI crap-fests.

My favorite Star Wars film. I just love the story and the visuals, and the music.

Everything in this film is aces outside of the cheesy love dialogue. The whole mystery with the dart and the assassins is intriguing. Obi Wan is a hilarious smart ass who struggles to deal with his difficult apprentice. Everything on Geonosis and Kamino is excellent. The Tatooine stuff is really good too, beyond Christensen's acting. Had Lucas had a better ear for dialogue and cast someone other than Christensen, this really would be better liked by most I think.

I'd try a different tune. It's a great track, at the end of the day it's still only 5 minutes long

I just don't get why the Clone Wars matter, just two sides wasting time throwing monsters at each other. Also worse clones ever, 100 Count Dookus vs 100 Mace Windus would've been much cooler

Re: Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
Exactly, why clone a meaningless character. Cloning siths or Jedi should have been a much smarter ploy This whole Sifadeaus or whatever his was should have been the catalyst. PS who the fuck is that guy. It has 3 amazing scenes. It's hard to base a film caring about Anakin when he's the worst character in the film. And he necessarily written bad but executed horribly. He's so much better in 3 at least.
I stand by ROTS should have been stretched to 3 films. An adult Anakin at odds with the Jedi is the key to the prequels lacking. Instead it's completely rushed into 10 minutes of the final film
