Given that I'm a huge fan of the first film I was really anticipating the sequel. Maybe I over anticipated a little too much as I felt this one falls just a little short. Picking up right where the first one left off we find H&K readying themselves for their trip to Amsterdam to find Maria, needless to say hilarity ensues. It ensues right up until the moment Rob Cordry hits the screen. Now I liked his shtick on the daily show but here it wares thin really, really fast. It's his portrayal of the racist/clueless homeland security guy that nearly derailed the film for me completely. I realize your not supposed to like the guy but I freaking hated the character and felt it brought nothing but detriment to the film. That being said H&K has enough original content, humor and respect for the original to warrant repeat viewings.

Honestly, it's what you expect. An extremely silly, often very funny movie. I thought it was about on par with the first film, maybe a small notch below.

The movie crosses manyyyy lines in the movie (cell scene in Guantanamo Bay) but it is consistently funny. Though I honestly though I was being preached to for most of the movie. Anyway, hilarious movie. B

Eh, not really. The movie is supposed to take place directly after the first one, and some (but certainly not all) of the jokes carry over, but other than that, I wouldn't think so.

Think I liked the first one better.

THis was OK/Good but with too many hits and misses.

I laughed my ass off. This is on par with the first.

My biggest fear was that this material would be preachy; well, it wasn't, and that's a credit to the sharp writing and mostly deft performances (Rob Corddry was a bit too on-the-nose for my tastes). The movie is also incredibly sweet, like White Castle, but I guess I wasn't expecting that again, for some reason.

As with the first, the movie is actually strongest when it flirts with surrealism, as in the NPH stuff. The remaining theater-goers actually cheered the post-credits scene.

I'm up for part three. Harold & Kumar Get an Abortion? Harold & Kumar Go To The Moon?

Also did everyone stay to after the credits to see everyone will be back for part 3.

Funny as hell, and maybe not as fresh as the first. Its one of the few comedy sequels these days that retain almost close to what the first did.

I wouldnt be surprised if the next one is. Harold and Kumar get married (Not to themselves obviously)

That being said, it was a dozen times as funny as the recent Forgetting Sarah Marshall - - the key difference being that FSM was falsely contrived humor, whereas H&K is authentically contrived.

But, yeah, the whole thing didn't really come together like the original - - they seemed to lose touch with the ethnic outsiders' vibe and went straight to absurdity - - which is a clear loss to all of us as Earth's children.

Yup, it's the old Hollywood formula known as the sequel cash-in - - though I most certainly retain faith in the third entry being the charm - - the magical unicorn of the series that redeems us all...

Very funny movie. A bit of a step up from the original actually. Not only is it as funny, but it even developed the characters even more this time. That being said.

Grade: A-

Pretty Funny, just slightly below the first one. I was laughing fairly often with all the slapstick/gross out humor.

FYI, the post credits end scene, pretty much added half a grade to my score, it was THAT good.

You go back to the fox hole, where NPH rises up, screen goes dark then you hear him sigh and say motherfucker.

You should ALWAYS stay for all the end credits, no matter if there are scenes at the end or not.

HAROLD AND KUMAR ESCAPE FROM GUANTANAMO BAY - 6/10 (C+)

Nowhere near as good as the first.

Yeah, I liked it as much as the first. It's bigger, dirtier, and maybe the most offensive movie ever, but it all works. While I never saw the theatrical cut, I imagine this is one of the few films that benefits greatly from having an Unrated version, it goes over the line and loves it. I laughed my ass off.

The threesome scene with the weed bag is worth the rental alone.

I was totally surprised by this. I went in expecting it to be a bit disappointing, but it turned out to be a definite improvement over the solid original. All of the racial satire was sharper, there was actually something of a plot, and even the George Bush part was funny (the fact that they successfully turned the president into a stoner/sympathetic character is amazing). And let's not forget about God (Neil Patrick Harris). But there were definitely moments that just had me shaking my head (watching Kumar jack off...and finish all over his own face - for example).

I can't wait for Part 3.
