 Huo Yuan Jia [Fearless]
Fearless Quote: Fearless, known in Chinese as Huo Yuanjia and Jet Li's Fearless in the United Kingdom and the United States, is a 2006 film directed by Ronny Yu and starring Jet Li. It is loosely based on the life of Huo Yuanjia, a famous Chinese martial artist who challenged foreign fighters in highly publicised events, restoring pride and nationalism to China at a time when Western imperialism and Japanese manipulation were eroding the country during the last few years before the birth of the Republic of China. Li stated in an interview that this film is his last wushu martial arts epic, a point also made in the film's television promotions and other publicity.
Fearless was released on January 26, 2006 in Hong Kong, on June 23, 2006 in the United Kingdom, and on September 22, 2006 in the United States.

While it said its based on a true story, its more of the mythological aspect and plays like any other wirefu movie. The plot itself needs work and isnt really that inspiring itself but it doesnt really matter because the fight choereography are very well done especially the finale match and Jet Li squaring off against Nathan Jones. I only wish their were more fights

The fight scenes did it for me in this one! My favorite being the birth day party crash at the Resturant and the bad ass scene afterwards! That's how you kill someone Quick with no mercy!!

Though it's funny to see a remake of Passion of the Christ so soon after the release of the original, Fearless is actually a distinct improvement over it's source material...
A diggably, resonant storyline drives the ass-kicking into a respectable orientation. Jet Li does his thang, naturally. Plot meets third act. Destiny trumps tragedy. The end.
6 out of 5.

I didn't like this movie a whole lot. There could've been so much more action, the story line lacked emotional depth (I didn't buy into the whole transition of jet li's character), and the end was just... uneventful. They could've dragged the fighting a bit more or completely wowed me. Unlike CTHD, that had great great great story and even better fighting scenes, this movie just didn't do it for me.
I Give it a C-.
I still rank CTHD 1, then House of flying daggers 2nd. Even Hero was better than this.

Outside of Jet crashing the party, this movie is cliched crap. And cute blind village chicks don't wear makeup.

Fighting choreography was amazing, but I wish there were more fights. The story itself is not bad, but seriously, it is as token and overused as possible (martial arts are not for violence, pride is bad, blah blah blah). It is better than most of Jet Li's English-language outings, though (Kiss of the Dragon is still my favorite Jet Li film of the last ten years, however). A decent watch and I really liked the finale. It spends a bit too much time on the backstory, though.

One of my favorite martial arts flicks ever.
Honestly, the plot was a bit cliche, and there were holes like loyal's make up on the blind girl, but for this type of movie, I didn't care. The fight scenes were among the best I've ever seen, the movie moves at a brisk pace, it is filmed well, and the sentimental moments work. Did I mention how seriously awesome the fight scenes were? Loved it.

Thought it was a movie in desperate need of a better director and a more serious take on the subject matter. Just didn't feel like the material had much respect from those involved.
