 BloodRayne
BloodRayne Quote: BloodRayne is a 2005 action and horror film directed by Uwe Boll. The film stars Kristanna Loken, Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Billy Zane, and Matthew Davis. It is based on the video game of the same name from Majesco and the game developer, Terminal Reality.
The film was the third video game movie adaptation by Uwe Boll who previously made the movies based on House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark. The film was critically panned upon its release, did poorly at the box office and was disliked by co-star Madsen.

Could it possibly be worse than Alone in the Dark, MovieDude?

I'd say it's worse then Alone in the Dark, yeah. It was even more incoherent and harder to understand, and also a bit less funny. There were definitely some classic Boll-moments that had me laughing out loud, but not quite as many as Alone in the Dark or House of the Dead.

Not a horrible movie. Just really, really bad.
Grade: D
No, not as bad as Alone in the Dark for me.

Well, I'll be damned.
It gives a whole new meaning to the word "fantastic." I'm just floored. A Uwe Boll film that delivers in an unexpected way. I...loved it. Ben Kingsley is excellent.

Yeah, the acting is terrible, the dialogue is stilted, and the direction is on par with that of a fith grader. We all know that. However, the film's worst crime is it's hopelessly dull middle section and a completely incomprehensible final five minutes. It actually has random bursts of pure entertainment, though, and the unrated cut I saw went positivley nuts in the gore department.
So, yeah... certainly not the worst film ever (not even of this year), but it's still terrible.

There are perhaps 10 minutes of this movie that is so bad that it is entertaining... like the ridiculously over the top gore inserted into the unrated edition that looks like it came out of something from Peter Jackson's Bad Taste movie. Also the bad acting is pretty funny (I could almost hear Ben Kingsley cashing his pay check in between lines).
However, the bulk of BloodRayne is terribly boring and a chore to watch. What makes it worse for me is that I actually really liked the video games. Unfortunately this movie has almost nothing to do with the video game and is just a mess.
My grade: F

Wow.. just wow. Has he done any movie that is close to decent? Or are they all that bad? I hope this isn't one of his better ones.

Does a handicapped person actually get raped in this movie?!
Oh and another thing i don't get about this movie, is his fascination with blood. THere was a little too much blood in this movie and then he decided to recap every death scene at the end of the movie. I don't get it.

Maybe to "get" the artistic ambitions of Dr. Uwe Boll you just need to listen to this:

It is real, by the way.
