 The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause  Quote: The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause is a 2006 American film, the sequel to The Santa Clause and The Santa Clause 2. This is the third and final film in the trilogy. This film was also scheduled as a Disney Channel Original Movie.
Tim Allen again plays Scott Calvin/Santa Claus, while Martin Short plays Jack Frost, a competing holiday character. Allen and Short had previously worked together in the 1997 Disney comedy feature film, Jungle 2 Jungle. Eric Lloyd returns in a smaller role as Santa's son Charlie, as do many of the supporting actors from the first two films, reprising their previous roles. However, David Krumholtz, who previously played Bernard the Arch-elf, does not appear in this one because of contractual issues, and so Curtis (played by Spencer Breslin), who was previously the Assistant Head Elf, has now been promoted to his former position.
This was the last film to feature Peter Boyle in his lifetime, as he died from cancer one month after the its release. The 2008 film All Roads Lead Home would be released posthumously.
Production was completed in February 2006. The movie was released in theaters on November 3, 2006 in the US followed by a release date of November 24 for the UK.

Geeze, can I just rate this now based on the commercials I've seen for this??? It's looking sort of tired and seems this is all Tim Allen has nowadays..

It was about as bad as you'd expect. My father adores the series, so I agreed to see it. I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the first film, which is still - in my humble opinion - a charming Christmas family film. This film, trying to be funny and approachable for audience members of all ages, struggles finding a balance between childish and adult humor. It never finds common ground and therefore fails pretty horribly. There isn't much spirit here, other than some very shallow commentary on the state of the American family and consumerism at Christmas. Approaching it from even a more light hearted vantage still leaves me very dissatisfied.

I don't know..... I didn't like it, bud did i ever expect to, no..... I know its purpose is to make lots of money from kids and parents that are forced to see it. Thats the thing though, i am sure kids will love it. It was nothing like the first 2 which i actually enjoyed and thought both were funny and enjoyable. This one lacked comedy and was way to over dramatized. But like i said, young kids will love it, and thats all the counts!

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause is one of those movies you know you're going to really like or if you're really going to hate it going in. If you liked the trailer and the TV spots, you'll definitely like the movie. It's a cute, charming family film that kept a smile on my face through the whole running time. It's far from one of the best Holiday films ever, but it is definitely one to teach you how to appreciate Christmas, and to get you in the holiday spirit.

Re: The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Much better, well, just better than The Santa Clause 2. SC3 feels much more like an actual film and not some strange spin-off sequel that includes all the main characters, but itsn't actually a spin-off and is a sequel....... I didn't understand what I just typed, but that's because I don't understand SC2, so ha.
This is enjoyable though. Jack Frost is a good character, and so are the In-Laws. The end is felt rushed though. It took it's time throughout the entire movie until the Escape Clause occurs. Then everything feels rushed for some reason. Not sure why they did that since I thought it was pretty interesting and would have liked to have seen more of it.
