 Re: Leap Year
Well I only watched half an hour of it and have no intention of wasting my time any longer. I went over to moviespoiler and found out the rest of the generic, unbelievable and stupid story.
It starts of okay I guess introducing Amy Adams and her boyfriend but it's really rushed into getting to Ireland which I guess is the point but there is no development and no humour at all. Typical maybe but at least humour is present.
Then it really drops the ball when they get the 'Irish' people to start talking. Of course, I myself haven't heard many Irish accents but Mathew Goode's accent makes it seem that the Irish are uneducated idiots who can't speak English. All the stupid humour follows (slapstick) and it all falls flat like usual.
Basically the film got annoying and I stopped watching.
I'd give it a B-/C+ for half an hour.

 Re: Leap Year
You stopped watching it but gave it a B-/C+? That makes no sense. Anyway, I saw it last weekend and would give it a 5/10 (C-).

 Re: Leap Year
Leap Year is a decent romantic comedy even if it is entirely predictable. Amy Adams and Matthew Goode are likeable in their leads and they grow more as the film progresses acting-wise, particularly since the two seem a bit too bitter in the beginning. The film has some amusing jokes along the way but if it could of gotten itself outside of cliches, the film could be so much more. In the end, it's decent. **

3/10 -> D-
Even when bad, romantic comedies have at least something charming or good about them, whether it's a crazy plot, charming main leads or something different. I love Amy Adams, but this movie sucks. Nothing redeeming in it and it gets worse as it goes on.

Leap Year
Well I kind of liked it. It started out pretty badly, but as it went on it got better. I mean, the story (and definitely the outcome) was a little bit silly and unbelieveable, but it's a romantic tale, so it's expected. Amy Adams is classicly beautiful. I could see her as a business woman that when she gets home, she takes of her clothes to reveal a raunchy pair of stockings and a corset. Top class totty. And Matthew Goode was...well, very goode too!
It's a pleasant and subtle little story.

I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't have a single original bone in it, but the leads are very charming and I guess I am just a major sucker for Amy Adams. I could watch her in anything and she is always enchanting (see what I did there?). Anyway, I will forget about it quickly, but I wasn't bored for a second when I watched it.
