Re: X2: X-Men United
Not as good as either spider man, TDK, perhaps a few other superhero flicks, but strong nonetheless.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

X2
I just watched this and it's not as good as I remember it. It's still entertaining, but I am now of the opinion that X-Men: Days of Future Past is the best X-Men movie. First Class is second best. Then X2.
One thing I'm not sure about is Jean Grey's powers. She can do what Xavier can do, but not as powerful, right? But she can also control the jet, stop Cyclop's rays, control water, move metal etc. Her powers are not clear at all.
Also, in that final scene, why couldn't Storm just create a huge wind to move the water away, say, a couple of twisters?
I feel that X2 is a good movie, but back in 2003 I was just so relieved to get an X-Men movie with Wolverine at least somewhat kicking ass, but on reflection, the action is very short and not very well filmed. You don't see much. It's sloppily edited and doesn't show much badass Wolverine action. Granted, it shows more than X-Men in 2000, but it's still less than I would have wanted. The CGI is also quite bad and obvious. In the newer films, it is remarkable, and the action is show better. Longer takes, more focus on the powers. In X2, it seemed like they didn't want to show anything great for longer than 2 seconds because either it cost too much or the effect was bad.
I'm also not sure about Rogue. In the animated TV series, she was a bad ass with huge strength. In this she's the worst character ever created. All she can do is take people's life by touching them. I prefer the Rogue that can punch 5 Sentinels away with one punch.

Spot on. It doesn't hold up all too well compared to what I thought about it ten years ago.

Re: X2
Just watched this now, and it's still great. It really is one of the best super hero movies made. I've always been more of a fan of x-men over the others, except maybe Superman, and I still not to see a really great movie about him. I really loved Rogue in this actually, in the first x-men she was a bit childish, but she matured well here. Most of the characters get a lot more depth to them, which just makes you become more involved. I remember really looking forward to wolverine origins, and the last stand after this, but they both were let downs, leaving me to think less fondly of these first 2 x-men I think. Days of future past in the end is the best in the series now, it can just lean on better visuals, and how it connects the stories is also really cool, but that movie was only made because of what X2 build. Re: X2
This is kind overrated, IDK. I enjoyed it less than X1 and The Last Stand, and way less than DOFP. I just don't find it that engaging.

Re: X2
This is a great sequel though at times looses focus and wanders before getting to the finale. A great follow-up with actors making the most out of their roles, the biggest strength is that it gives all major characters a good screen time.
