SAW - originality + (gore * 5) + a couple of unneeded chacrters + better acting + better (although somehow predictable) twist + less plot holes = SAW II. B+.

But there's something confusing me - SPOILERS AHEAD:

How many bodies were in the bathroom the meoment Eric Mathews entered? I only counted 2, but I think there should have been 3, Adam, Zepp, and Xavier?

Yeah actually there should be three. But there are two bodies and one foot. So I guess Jigsaw did something else with the "rest" of the doctor. Foot=3 body.

Actually... the doctor crawled out of the room at the end of Saw. So at the end there was 1 guy and 1 foot... then Xavier at the end of Saw 2... yep

I think ahmed's right. There should have been three...

The doctor crawled out at the end of Saw, but there still should have been two bodies before even Xaviar walked in. Those two bodies should have been Zepp's and Adam's. Then, Xaviar died, making him the third.

Solid horror film B, just like the last one, though this one was alittle more predictable and a worst cast, but I still enjoyed thankx to the more elaborte deaths and higher production.

Saw is one of my least favourite films of all time.

Saw 2, while hardly great, was a fun little horror flick.

Well, I'll be the first one to admit that I thought the first film flat out sucked. On a couple of repeated viewings though, it has somewhat grown on me, in a somewhat campy sort of way. So that saying, I am flat out shocked by the fact at how much I really liked the sequel. The acting is nowhere near as bad as it was in the first film. The obstacles are more challenging and disgusting than in the first. And, the twist at the end (Even though it's somewhat easy to guess) is actually plausible and not absurd like in the first film. The thing that surprised me most about the end was how well it worked, especially bringing back the bathroom from the first film.

All in all, it's much better than I was expecting it to be, and it's a lot of fun.

You know?? I was thinking.. What's the timeframe between the 1st film and the 2nd one if the bodies were that decomposed in the bathroom from the 1st movie??

They weren't totally decomposed...I'd guess a year or a year and a half. I'm no expert though.

the acting in this one wasent much better, but the killings and twist ending make up for that. I think it was way better than the first and had bigger production budget, thank god''. Its one of the best horror film sequels I've ever seen

After seeing Saw 2 I gotta say it's much duller/boring then the first film and somewhat redeems itself with a great last 15min ( much better ending then the first film ) Other then that though, I dont really get the popularity of Saw. It's not scary, it's not very interesting ( other then the deaths ). The whole middle just drags and drags, it's f'in boring. I guess it just goes to show how much a sweet ending can boost a movies quality oh so much with alot of people.

Grade - C+

A gleefully glory and exciting sequel, that isn't as quite as good as the first movie, in terms of originality, mood, and overall freakiness. The performances of Tobin Bell (Jigsaw- he's wonderful) and Donnie Wahlberg, as well as the tense and surprising last half hour, made this a film worth watching. I totally did not see that ending coming.

Not as good as the original (Which I thought was overrated as well).

Sweetheart, if it's gore you want, then SAW III spares absolutely no expense in that department and the traps are more brutal then ever.. Happy Halloween..

Without the proper methods that funeral homes use to help slow decomposition methods, it could conceivably be that decomposed in a year, with the bad fumes of the sewer, damp conditions, and blood all over the place.

I am a bit curious to how Xiaver decomposed that quickly. With the time between the taping and real events, he should've been a full featured body... unless Jigsaw did something to him, heh.

According to the commentary, it's a few days between the house game and Matthews actually getting there. Plenty of time for a bloodied corpse to decompose a bit.

Is it possible for this movie to get better now that we have seen the third? I think so. This is one of the best trilogies ever made.

9/10

Being a horror fan I'm often willing to forgive lapses in logic to enjoy a good old gorefest but Saw II is one of those rare occasions where I just can't ignore the sheer idiocy on display.

I mean I really enjoyed the original Saw it was smart and bloody and Jigsaw was a great villian but I never got around to seeing Saw II and III till now. And to say I think Saw II is a crock of shit is putting it mildly.

I mean how fucking dumb are the people in this movie. Hell i'll tick off the list of shame

(We'll forgive the guy with the key in the eye that was a decent death scene, even thou it would be impossible to actually put that key there without damaging the eyeball, but I'm being picky)

First victim (The guy the get shot thru the eyehole). Why the fuck did he look thru the hole? Seriously any idiot would have erred to the side of caution.

Second Victim: (The fella burned alive) Yes we are all clearly retarded and won't have somebody holding the door in case something bad happens. I hope his deathe was slow. Jackass.

Third Victim: (The black fella killed by the burly angry drug dealer) Now this is easily the dumbest most retarded thing I have ever seen in cinema and the scriptwriter deserves to contract a disease from the deepest jungles of South America and die for it. Guy figures out a numbered combination is on the back of all there necks. Logical solution he tells everyone and they all look at each others necks and figure it out. But this movie clearly doesn't know what logic is, instead the burly retard decides to kill people to get the numbers, I mean seriously what the fuck is this? What was he afraid the others would go "no you may not look at my neck let us all die a horrible death from the nerve agent". Thinking about it makes me boil with rage.

Fourth Victim: (The chick that dies as an effect of the nerve agent) Ok we'll forgive this nothing to idiotic about this death

Fifth Victim: Uh Oh the idiocy returns. Chick sticks hand up slot to retreive syringe. Hand gets trapped by razorsharp trap. Logical course of action? DO NOT STICK OTHER HAND UP OTHER SLOT BECAUSE ANY IDIOT WOULD KNOW IT WOULD HAS EXACTLY THE SAME TRAP!!!! Oh but I forgot this is Saw II where everyone has all the brains of Lobotomised Chimpazees. AAAAARRRGGGGHHHHH this is so stupid.

Sixth Victim: (Death of the Burly Guy) Bleh ok he wasn't an idiot but somebody must have been looking at cliche 101 when they chose his death scene.

But wait the fun isn't over the movie then attempts to tack on a twist ending ala Saw (which worked in the original but not here)

And then there is the fact that no police service would be so inept is to not know a video feed isn't recorded (anybody with tech knowledge would know this)

Vile shit like this gives Horror a bad name. I feel ashamed to be a horror fan after watching this.

Um, there was only one antidote in the safe. If Xavier told everyone, who's to say he'd get it?
