 A Lot Like Love
A Lot Like Love Quote: A Lot Like Love is a 2005 romantic comedy-drama film directed by Nigel Cole. The screenplay by Colin Patrick Lynch focuses on two individuals whose relationship slowly evolves from lust to friendship to romance over the course of seven years. The film's tag line was: there's nothing better than a great romance to ruin a perfectly good friendship.

To begin with, I like Ashton Kutcher and I like Amanda Peet. I also thought the trailer for this movie was good. All I have to say is A Lot Like Love is a lot like shit (Insert rimshot). I don't think I have ever seen a romantic comedy, where the two main characters are so inept about their feelings for one another. Here's the thing I don't get though. The movie takes place over the course of seven years. We know this because at almost every scene change we get a title card saying how many years have gone by since the last two characters have seen one another. Here's the thing. The characters during the seven year timespan only meet each other about four or five times, for no longer than a day. Maybe it's just me, but that seems a bit odd.
Peet and Kutcher are fine in their parts, it's just that the characters are so stupid, we don't really care what happens to them by the end of the movie. Plus, there are a lot of unintentional laughs in the movie (Title cards specifically), which brings it down even more.

Today:
A LOT LIKE LOVE - 7/10 ( B )
I really liked this one. It was predictable, but really cute and funny. I might raise my rating eventually. It's between a 7/10 and an 8/10 (B+). I'll think about it and post if I change my mind. Amanda Peet is great here as is Kathryn Hahn in a really good supporting performance. Ashton Kutcher does a fine job as well.

its at a massively encouraging 3.7/10 on IMDB, or 1.2 points less than "Elektra", 1.5 better than "Gigli" and 0.3 better than Catwoman....

It will even out eventually. Most of those votes are from fanboys who hate Ashton Kutcher and vote 100 times. It's the same reason TITANIC only has a 6.9/10

A LOT LIKE LOVE - 7/10 (B-)
Like Thompson, my grade might go up on another viewing but I doubt it. It was a really cute flick and the performances were quite good, even Ashton was good in it. Parts were funny, parts were romantic. It was just a really fun time. I'll be buying the dvd when it comes out.

Yup, this is pretty cute.
It reminds me of 40 Days and 40 Nights. It's hard not to like it even if it technically isn't a good film.
I'd give it around a B-. Good times, definitely.

A cute, funny romantic comedy. Flawed, and not quite a 'good' film, but somewhat enjoyable. C+
Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet have great chemistry, though.

And, now, it's .5 points ahead of Elektra.

Very generic, but I'm a sucker for these type of movies. Amanda Peet is hot as always. B.

Alot better than it had any right to be. Some parts were unneeded and the ending fell flat, but it worked overall.

Occasionally sweet, but it's pretty much just a lot of Amanda Peet and Ashton Kutcher being cutesy. For 100 minutes.
And it's not fun.
