Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
Oh Come on, Darkseid is Thanos to GA. One wears jewelry on his hand, and the other has a hood if I remember correctly.
BVS fucked everything up. You could have made another MOS (establish the character, put him against Brainiac introduce some elements of the league), A Batman film, BVS (and only BVS), then WW, then JL where Supes dies against Doomsday, then AM, Batman and Flash vs. Suicide Squad, and JL2 where Darkseid appears and they finally revive Superman. (That would have probably taken them to 2024)
That's what happens when you try to play catch up to the best. There biggest mistake was realizing there was no reason to.
And don't call it pride. Marvel and DC are Coke and Pepsi.

DCEU is an obvious joke. Even fucking Deadpool makes jokes about it in the fucking trailer.
Generation Z belongs to Marvel. There is no debate.

Much more watchable that Dulltron. I would ave thought that Stark was closer than Vision considering that he's fucking Jarvis.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
First thoughts: It was largely a lot of fun/entertaining until the whole last 15ish mins. Thanos "winning" and dissolving half the universe (including all the Guardians of the Galaxy except Rocket, Black Panther, Dr Strange, Spider-Man, etc) is just such a fucking waste of time. All those characters I just mentioned will be brought back to life in whatever capacity, so this is just such a pointless affair. It's such a lame, time-filler ending--reminds me of a season finale part one "to be continued" kind of jerk-around (only with a year in between). This whole situation (re: Marvel movies) reminds me of the X-Files or a similar show, the kind where the monster-of-the-week and random adventure episodes are so much better than finales/premieres. I knew going in to treat this like a "Part 1" but I suppose I still wasn't quite prepared for it to so fully embrace such a lame "cliffhanger." I was having plenty of fun with things for the most part, and then it randomly ends in a universal genocide which--like I said--you just *know* is going to be undone. Whatever. Nice Aliens shoutout

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
Whether you saw the aftermath of the snap or not it had to happen happen here or the followup. I don't get the complaint. This is bringing to life a comic book storyline to some degree and isn't that what folks should be excited about?
Also, is Valkyrie dead? I'd be very annoyed at that. I would have liked to have seen the defeat of xandar. I noticed Red Skull is another actor. I don't like how this is before the Antman film because it throws off the timeline and is just weird.

Do you mean after the new Antman film? Because Scott's situation was mentioned in a sentence by Captain.

I found the switch from what appeared to be murdering *everyone* in Asgard/Loki being strangled until his neck breaks to silly, quippy, GOTG fun a little...odd. I still was largely enjoying things, though, until it became apparent this was all just going to be undone in whatever way.
The more of these cinematic "Part 1" type things I see the more I don't like being bilked in such ways.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
This is might be the first blockbuster I've ever seen that truly needs an expanded cut. I heard rumors the first cut was near 210 minutes.
I loved it, too early to tell where it falls. Also, I don't think anyone that has any sense would be shocked. And I completely took it as a part one. Which might cause backlash and which is why I think Marvel was holding back just for the release of this film. I think now they will go back to Infinity War Part II, to show it's the finale.

"If Thanos wasn’t so good I’d probably hate this movie but he’s really good. "
So I saw the movie last night and I thought it was incredible. Pretty darn close to the comics as well. But Thanos was absolutely the star. He is the best villain MCU has had to date and it isn't close (though not that hard, there have only been a handful of quality ones).
As for other character development. They definitely did a little with Wanda and Vision. Thor had some moments, but after that the rest were just shown as living their lives post Civil War.

Is the Ant-Man sequel a prequel to this one? I only ask because this puts that movie in a precarious situation.
Yeah, this was damn good. I thought it balanced all the tones quite well. And it’s worth the ticket alone for the Captain and Thor moments alone. And good on Marvel/Disney for sticking the ending.
A-
Looks like Brie Larson is going to save the world?

I wonder how many sequels are going to take place before IW. Maybe some will run parallel to IW from a different point of view.

So Avengers 4 will end with: -Tony and Pepper starting a family (no way RDJ dies) -Steve going back in time to live his life out with girl from the first one -Thor being a badass occasionally making appearances -Black Widow and Hulk doing IDK? -Spider-man, Black Panther, Wanda, Captain Marvel, Strange, and Ant-Man as the Avengers

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
Uhh I think they paved the way for Thor/Hulk/Guardians Movie in the future.
I really must applaud everyone involved with this film. It was never a reality, and in many cases impossible. While the film feels like it's too big for itself its because it is. There's no way to take this as a movie. This is like Binge watching your favorite show on demand. I will say why disjointed from a filmmaking perspective, I think they balanced it out enough pretty well. And I can't wait to see where it goes next, and I will wait for when both films are merged together as one as an ultimate film.
Also now with Red Skull with nothing to do. I wouldn't be surprised if he pops back in the 2nd film.

Also, Spider-man was awesome throughout and had easily the best "end"

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
Everybody was good. However, for the first time, Downey or Pratt were not the funniest or overall best character. Hemsworth Thor got decisively more laughs than anyone else at my showing as well as by far the biggest applause for his arrival in Wakanda. He is likely better in smaller doses (just like Stark) but he shined here.
Evans, Johnson, Baseman etc all were given very little to do.
Great to see Paltrow, Jackson, and co back. Though I thought Fury was in hiding?

TBH they would have been much effective without an already announced sequel.
