 Re: Inside Out
It's brilliant.
I do wonder though, what will kids get out of this because its a kind-friendly movie that isn't a kids movie. It is definitely the most adult-satisfying Pixar film made and it could just be there best overall. There is so much to digest here but I agree with everyone that it should have been longer.
Also, I really don't know what to think about Lava.

 Re: Inside Out
Well, almost nobody has commented on its score, to me it's simply amazing, one of the best soundtracks from Giacchino

 Re: Inside Out
I saw it for my second time last night and I just can't get over how layered and beautiful this movie it. It honestly may be my favorite Pixar film yet and that is really saying something. It's just a gorgeous, hilarious and incredibly moving film.

 Re: Inside Out
Lava sucked Bing Bong was good, but his sacrifice apparently didn't hit me like some of you guys The ending however did hit me though. Oh boy.
Pixar's best since Up, though I wouldn't quite put it on that level. The film needed about another 20 minutes to flesh out Riley a little bit more. The idea is great and probably Pixar's best, but I wish I could've cared about Riley a little more. I also would've liked a little more time with the other three emotions.

Definitely benefits from repeat viewing.
I figured out what my gripe was: it's slightly shorter than it should be; another five minutes spread throughout the whole film would've been perfect. The sheer brilliance and power of the film far outweigh that though.
So, very happy to say that this is now my first theater-going five-star movie of the year, and is my new favourite Pixar film.
Still firmly in #teamlava as well. Watching it again with more preparation it's hard to see why it's so divisive. It's just a sweet ukulele-backed song, no idea what all the hate is about.
***** / ***** People don't like singing and A volcano love story I guess.

 Re: Inside Out
Very good film. It's cute, funny and heartfelt. It's wonderfully animated, with a good story attached to it. It's no doubt one of the better animated films I've seen. At the same time it's not my type of film, and I don't see a lot of rewatch value in this. It's a bit long, and in general I wasn't too interested in the journey back from Sad and Joy. They are well voiced though, just like the whole cast. I mainly appreciate the film, for it's strong scenes; Sad and Joy influencing the dream world, the "short cut room", and how Joy escapes from the black dwell with Bing Bong's help. All very good, or touching scenes, just as whole I didn't really get sunk into it. The film finishes strong, and it just does animation well.

 Re: Inside Out
I think the reason I don't like this quite as much as Monsters Inc., Incredibles, Nemo, Ratatouille, and Up is the small scope. Really, not much of significance is going on outside Riley's head. She moves, she doesn't like it, she runs away, comes home and reconciles. The fantastic adventure going on inside her head is infinitely more interesting. But this is not really an issue, it's simply what causes it not to be my absolute favorite. Still my favorite animated movie since Frozen, and before that since 2010 with the 1-2-3 punch of TS3, Tangled and DM.

That's why it's so brilliant. Because it takes this small scope of the everyday life of this little girl, and creates something so bold and imaginative.

Inside Out
Clever, and cute, and adorable. It is very creative, and contains a lot of content relating to how our brains tick. The cowardly purple one is particularly funny, and definitely my favourite. Joy is slightly annoying. I think everything that's good has already been said by other people. I just want to say that I really enjoyed it, and it even gets emotional towards the end. I held it back, but it was definitely there. I love it when Pixar takes a traumatic childhood experience and injects a fun narrative into it and produces a gem like Inside Out or Monsters, Inc. because the last original film they made (Brave, also about a little girl) wasn't great. Thankfully this was.

I'd give the edge to Fury Road, but this was certainly my second favorite of 2015 pre-Hateful Eight.

 Re: Inside Out
I would love to see things like Guilt and Pride personified. Though I agree they are unnecessary. Even Disgust is technically unnecessary, which is part of the reason she is the modt forgetabble of the five.

 Re: Inside Out
They'll most likely include other emotions in future shorts or TV specials/DVD movies, etc..
I doubt they don't expand upon this property considering its success.

 Re: Inside Out
The concepts works with tv, video games, books, rides, really everything. This will probably end up being more profitable than the Frozen franchise.
