It's a B because it's a kids film, cool Pretty much, yes. I like adult films. I can appreciate kids films, but they don't really rock my socks off ya' know. I suppose a "B+" is the highest a film like this can get to from me, so it being a "B" is pretty darn good for it. There are exceptions to every rule, though. Monster's Inc. and The Incredibles are both "A+" grades from me. They evoke more than just laughs and colourful imagery.

I really like the film, but I agree that Mila Kunis post-transformation looked awful. The effects, that is. Weisz was a better villain.
Algren, have you seen How to Train Your Dragon?

Well I'm probably not going to love it with comments like that. There's just no way it can live up to that comment (and others I've seen).

I don't expect you to like it anywhere as much as some others here do anyway. My prediciton is a B/B-, okay but nothing earth-shattering.

Rewatched it this week and it's just no good. It feels completely lifeless, empty, and lazy. C-

I think I gave it three points.

Not as bad as I thought it would be, but not great either. I would definitely say it's at least better than AIW, but that's not saying much IMO.

Re: Oz the Great and Powerful
I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would but it still was a constant up & down. I was surprised how bad some of the effects or action scenes looked. Franco seemed to grin like Julia Roberts the entire movie and Kunis was just beyond horrible. It was a passable time waster. I liked Giants much more.

Re: Oz the Great and Powerful
F.
One of the worst movies I've seen.
Didn't even finish it after the embarrassing Mila Kunis transformation scene.
This, more than Transformers or even shit like The Last Airbender, just screams "Watch me, I'm so pretty,". Never liked the Spider Man films, this is another dud in Raimi's filmography.
Green screen should have been the title.
James Franco is an embarrassment, yes, this movie deserves that adjective more than once, he may have criticized Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but all he did here was smile awkwardly. It was cringeworthy. "Acting" they call it. The dialogue was atrocious, so cookie cutter and eyeroll worthy.
And then there's the comedy...the monkey screams formula, and Disney formula at that, and nothing else hits. Franco is creepy with his philandering and the actresses written in all being one dimensional and unable to think for themselves. It's laughable they thought they needed the monkey, the irritating china girl and other lame sight gags to try and Disneyfy it and yet have the unwritten, unspoken "I just fucked James Franco" scene. So out of place and then cut to Franco grin.
Destroy this in a fire.
