The SR-71 transported them to Egypt.

I think you're right. Aaron should be dead. The sec of Def from the last film said there were no survivors. Mmm.

He transferred them to Egypt, true, but first they walked outside to an airplane graveyard, which is located in Nevada or Arizona and according to the film, seems to be located outside the Smithsonian.

The first Transformers in 2007 was a fun B-entertainment film. This sequel has none of the magic that the original had. You never quite get an understanding of what the story is (as it keeps switching from saving Optimus, to stopping the Fallen, finding the meaning of the symbols) that you just get lost in watching it. Megan Fox's screaming is annoying as hell (we get it you love Sam but stop screaming his name every five seconds). Also, this film does WAY too much slow motion and none of it works. Add on top of all this, Bay didn't even make a film in the last 30-40 minutes as he was probably just like "Fuck it, let's just have a massive robot fight". I mean I don't mind robot fights in the film but he took the fighting from the first and put it too much into overdrive. Plus, those racist robots just added more to the annoyance. There are a couple things that saved the film though from being a total wreck and that is the comedy was very good (especially with Sam's mother getting weed, OMG!). Also the first half had some very good points that could of made the film up there with the first. Overall it's a disappointment and I hope the third will be better. C

My theater was even crazier than TDK was last night. When I got there the 6:30, both 7:00's, and the 7:30 were all sold out. There were still about 100 tickets left for the 8:00 when I got there. Oh and everyone went crazy when Optimus did one little thing and the film at the end got a roaring applause with a lot of people sitting around me saying that the outrageous clapping was unnecessary. This most likely will be a $400 million grossser now. Ugh.

Mmm. I'm almost convincing myself just to see it with a big audience again even though I was underwhelmed. I think I may see it again just for that aspect of it.

Yes I remember for ROTK, at the end. An old man (like over 75) in tears stood up to applaud the film.

No one else got up... :funny:

There was great wom nonetheless from everyone.

clapping for this film is rather over the top. There have been far better film but it shows you guys, this is really popular with the fanbase and and at worst getting a "it's okay" vibe from the rest. Spider Man 3 already had the fan base raping the film apart.

It was actually filmed in Tucson, Arizona... one of the worst cities in the world

7/10 -> B-

Overall I find it slightly better than the first one. The first one is funnier, with a more coherent story and still owns the best scene in the series (the backyard scene with Shia's parents lecturing about sex and Autobots hiding). But this one flew by much faster and the action was much better this time around, mostly because the scenes were cleared and it was easy to see who was fighting who.

That being said, there's a plethora of characters that should've been cut or not returned (Tyrese's and Josh's characters are completely redundant).

Also, Optimus Prime's narration is awful. His lines during the fights are awful too. The person who thought of those should be shot.

It's an OKish blockbuster. I had pretty low expectations (especially because I don't have very high opinion about the first movie). Maybe that helped a bit.

The Robots: Too Many. The Twins did nothing for me so was the rest of the enemies. The humping toy truck was ok. The unicycle was fucking cool, we should have seen 10 mins. more of this.

Action: On par with the first. While TF2 had more of them, it didn't feel as fresh as TF1. Forest battle was the best, and I really wish they did one in NY. An NY battle sequence in Transformers = best action film ever. That broadcast sequence alone had me salivating!

Comedy: 50% of the jokes fell flat but when it was funny, you'll laugh to death. Any scene with Turturro and the roommate were the highlights.

Megan Fox funbags: Good but too plasticky.

Overall, the first 20 mins. or so after Shanghai was sooo off, it really brought down the film but the rest ranged from good to amazing. TF1 is obviously better but the critics should be slitting their throats. I still don't think we'll see an action film as EPIC and as fun as this till TF3.

AWESOME.

The one complaint I have ('cause anyone who expected a great plot and non-cheesy dialogue...d'uh) is that the film is 150 minutes, yet only 20 seconds are contributed to the fight between Optimus Prime and Fallen.

And yes, the roommate is slightly annoying. I wish Jonah Hill didn't drop out of it.

The worst part of the movie IMO was Sam's mother.
Jesus, she was so fucking unfunny. And her voice just pissed you off.
Almost as bad as Liam Neeson's daughter in Taken. The teenage one who ran like a 7 year old.
But since she wasn't really a part of the movie I overlooked it. (appearance wise and both movies)

Going to watch this on tuesday again, this time on IMAX. Can't wait.

The screen I saw it the first time was barely bigger than my TV.

Biggest sin for an blockbuster action film to commit is to be boring and that's exactly what Transformers 2 is. Incoherent mess of an action film that Is far too long for it's own good. With such a silly plot they sure spent their sweet ass time explaining it. The last 30min of the film was just one big action sequence and all I could think about was when the fuck this would be over with, drag the shit out of the action then only give us one minute of the big showdown, weak.

Best thing I could say about this film is that it has plenty of intentionally funny scenes.

epic visuals. Seriously some really great shots and SFX. However, bland substance and little to no thrills. Overall B so it's just great summer entertainment. A lot more than what I was expecting.

Im disappointed they didnt improve the action sequences from the last film. Theres one thing with being boring and offensive with the drama but to not deliver the action, its my biggest let down. Didnt the leaked script say something about Jetfire fighting Starscream in a dogfight? There was none of that. Im not sure if the budget was able to finance it or what but not one single top gun jet fight. Worst of all is that devastator had only one transformation. I was at expecting to see the detacable parts turn into individual robots themselves. Thats a great disservice for fanboys since they only added 2 recognizable by name decepticons and 1 autobot to the list
. Most of the giant freaking decepticons look like a variation of Starscream and Megatron. Whats up with that??

interestingly enough in last couple of months we had an opportunity to experience two films that work mostly as conceptual acts. it can be said that both are not films in their nature, though they definitely bear all external criteria (acting, aesthetics, etc.). the first was Antichrist, the second was Transformers 2. having seen Antichrist twice, first time in Cannes, i can say that it is a slap in the face of Cannes public more than a film (this theory first appeared in press right after premiere). first time i loved it, on repeat viewing i thought it was lame. same goes to Transformers, with an exception that i saw it once, as it is an ultimate Hollywood blockbuster. as Antichrist is an ultimate arthouse flick. pity that Bay and co. did not premiere their "film" in Cannes.

This movie is so bombastic, loud and in-your-face that it makes the original film look reserved in comparison and makes the audience feel like they've been assaulted, but what can I say? I was entertained. Michael Bay takes action porn to a whole new level with this one, but as with the first film, his "directing" style seems appropriate for the material so I can't object too much. The film is a bunch of robots blowing shit up for 150 minutes, at least 30 of which are totally unnecessary, but oh well. The ever-charming Shia LaBeouf has unfortunately been robbed of some of his appeal in this one; his charisma is present but he pretty much becomes a standard action movie hero for the second half of the film. Megan Fox at least says her relatively small amount of dialogue with conviction; maybe she'll soon get a film in which she can demonstrate she actually has acting ability, as it's hard to determine from these movies. The plot is nearly incomprehensible, but suffice it to say the action sequences are extremely impressive and well-filmed. If you assume intelligence and logic don't matter in a film, the Transformers sequel fits the bill. B-
